So this is my first grow and all my plants are cookies... now I've only been feeding them liquid seaweed and cal mag during veg but very low doses of nutrients, I mostly just feed with clean water and my stems are turning purple... I'm growing in FFOF soil now I'm getting worried I might be over feeding but that seems unrealistic bcuz how very little I feed with nutrients so I'm wondering if it's in the cookies genetics? Any other feedback is appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Purple stems are more of a sign of underfeeding and deficiency, not overfeeding. There's quite a few strains like GDP that just have a lot of purple to the stem color no matter what you do. The problem is overfeeding can cause the plant to not be able to uptake certain nutrients giving you symptoms of deficiency. I would ease back on the seaweed and cal mag. That's a small plant. FFOF is a hot soil. You don't need to add anything for a few weeks. Make sure you feed water is about 6.5 ph and go with just that for a week or so. See what happens.
