Nutrient burn? Light stress?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by janarhia, Dec 15, 2021.

  1. Hey guys!

So my plant has developed very slim new leaves after switching to 12/12. Also it received much less light before so maybe it’s stressing a little? Bottom fan leaves die a little too often aswell.

What i noticed today however was that some leaves have burnt tips too.

Any ideas what could be the problem? Its growing in quality soil, i only use natural nutes and only half of what is recommended. It shouldnt be nute deficency as the leaves are quite dark green.

    Thanks alot in advance

  3. Soil too hot, water double the pot size, this will help to reduce the soils EC

  4. I just repotted her 2 weeks ago, a week before switch to 12/12. Also its not very hot in the tent overall.

  5. Yes very little burn from nutrients probably, but don't look anything to really worry about, just my opinion.

  6. It means you're pushing the plant right to the limit of how much nutrients it can take as long as it stays very tiny on the tip you're okay

  7. Thank you! Should i take a break for a week? Im using organic fertilizer called bioblizz at half dose but i just replanted into fresh nutrient rich soil aswell.

  8. If in soil do a slurry test. Take a large shot glass of soil. Dig down a little. Than put that into a Tupperware small container. Than put the equal amount of distilled water. Stir for 1 minute and than stick ur ph meter than ur ppm meter. This will show u what's going on! So if ppms are over 400 u just need water and microbes if u use them. Under 400 ppm feed

  9. Can't be light burn with that tiny thing..lol. I'M NOT SHAMING!

  10. That CFL could be 300w and with the 2 smaller CFL could be close to 400w in a 2ft x 2ft (guessing, looking at the picture) 400w in that space could easily cause heat stress and probably light stress if the canopy is close enough. (100w ft2).

  11. What’s the ph of the water you’re feeding with? Sometimes it’s the ph of the water that causes the deficiency no amount of nutrients can solve.

  15. How close are they to harvest? They are supposed to get a little deficiency towards the last 2 or so weeks but this looks like it’s too early for that. It could also be a calcium magnesium deficiency. Really need you ph of water in, out and ppm/ec in and out. Soil or hydro. Room temps, humidity. If you are using more than the standard 3 part nutrient I would discontinue everything except the basic nuts till figured out.

  16. When the plant is exposed to high levels of light, the plant will drink more water and use more food.
I would give the plant some food, grow and bloom nutes or top dress, something like 3.6.6(npk)

  17. Take some photos of newer growth. Since you did all these changes the problem could be fixed. My guess is potassium and calcium deficiency/issue which could really just be a ph issue. Always start at ph because if it’s off it doesn’t matter what value your nut recipe is the plants get locked out and can’t mobilize anything in the soil.

  18. Hey! theyre currently on week 4 after flip, so not even halfway done im afraid. Soil. Bioblizz nutes at half strenght. Temps fluctuate from 15c to 28c.

Should i still feed bioblizz or should i take a break?

  19. some pics of newer growth. But the plant seems to be deteriorating quicly. Just noticed more leaves with brown spots
