Nutes questions

Discussion in 'First-Time Cannabis Growers' started by cicileu, Nov 23, 2006.

  1. My 26 days old plants started to yellowing cotyledons, I understood that this mean they need some nutes.
I'm going to start preflowering on fridat with 36 hours of "night" then with the normal 12/12 schedule.
My question is: I have to give them nutes with high value of N (for vegging) or I can start to give them nutes with high value of P and K (for flowering)???

Any help is appreciated, thanks. :smoking:

  2. "pre-flowering" is something plants sometimes do in the veg stage, all by themselves. It's not something you induce; that's "flowering", and for best results, it's a one-way trip.

I definitely advise you take some clones first, or indeed, put the clones into 12/12 and keep the original plants in the veg state. Your plants are still quite immature, and your next set of clones will yield more.

And stick with veg nutes (damn, I hate that word) for now. It's only after a couple of weeks into flowering (once the stretch is over) that you need to switch to higher PK stuff, I guess... I grow organic, so my soil pretty much has it all, waiting to go when the plant asks for it, but that's the time to start laying off the nitro feeds, for sure.

Watch your plants, they'll tell you what they need, and when.

  3. what i usually do is gradually add 1/3 amounts of list to the plant, this lets me know the reaction
