Hey! New here and there's so much knowledge to absorb. I've got mixed thoughts on what I think is the issue with the girls but I need help. I raised the lights 5-6 inches higher and turned down the lights some a couple days ago so don't be fooled by the picture. 20/4 light, avg temp 76, Roots Organic soil and nutrient line. Feed every 4 days. What do you think? Thanks!
Only thing I'd say is you can rule out light burn. Last pic we see your setup and with a strip type of light and the short plant affected as well as the tallest no light burn. But all nute issues get worst by strong light. Deficiencies will usually start at the top just like excess. All about transpiration. Dimming your light and reduce daylenght to 18-6 will help no mater what. Gonna have to post a little more to be sure, but looks like overfeeding from here. Do you have a ppm meter? Can you measure runoff ppms? Witch bottles from roots organic line up are you using?
im with lucas looks like overfeeding big time do you do a water only feed ? why feed every 4 days , id feed them when they a re hungry instead of a set pattern to feed let the plant go until the leaves start to droop then feed pushing the limit there are a ton of snake oil out there to give you more frost the call it , question is when is enough enough never run roots organic product , i do know that along with any nutrient line never go with what they sugest on the feed schedule, run your plants with a ph and ppm meter mate, go by stage of growth instead of what week it is in, some them studs want more and some them runts turn out to be the best if you dig that last picture shws me that you tried to boost some feed they didnt like i cant really tell on my end if your on last weeks of veg , hopefully you are , you want the problem fixed before you flip to flower for sure myself i would be feeding them plants at 6.5 ph and 700 ppm
Thank you both for the input! Here's a few more pictures of each plant with PH and PPM readings. In addition, I have added pics of the nutrient lineup and I have been staying on week 4 for 3 weeks now. I ran the nutes as guided and then later bumped it up some and ran the lights brighter/longer. That said, I believe my confusion was possibly having a light issue and now here I am! I used 6.5ph water to collect the runoff readings and they are bad. I'm a newbie y'all, so thank you for the much needed help!
Nice to read from you! I hoped you'd be back and it was just not a one time post! OK, you are not in the best position here, but cannabis plants are though and should make it trough. As suggested in my first answer, dim your light and reduce daylenght. For now, I would leave the 1st and 2nd one alone, giving plain water without nutes but with extra runoff until they look healthier. Not a fan of flushing with soil, but really here it's time to flush 3rd one. You are gonna have to drag your plant in the shower, with the elevator stand, and pour water as much as it takes to bring the ppm down to about half of what it is right now. We live and learn! It happened to me before and will happens again to other growers. The real Food is your light (photosynthesis), nutrients are only minerals to support the growth. I have been looking at their feeding chart, it is pretty aggressive! Going as much as 80 ml a gal. per watering! And the soil they sell contains all of these ingredients so it is already charged with lots of good things to support growth: compost, EWC, guano, soybean meal, alfalfa meal, fishbone meal, kelp meal and greensand. Looks almost enough to run a *water only* grow. As old shol4evr said, never follow manufacturer's feeding chart! You can cut it in half and see where it goes. Then, we have an other problem here: is this your final tent, the one you plan on using for flowering? You need to consider that plants will double to triple in size, vertically and horizontally, once light schedule is switched to 12-12. You will run out of space in no time! You should flip to 12-12 ASAP. But the extra time needed to fix nutrient issues will make your plants bigger that they already are. So I would leave them alone at least for a week to bounce back, and then make some really aggressive pruning. The 3rd one could be almost chopped in half! So please come back, give us some update and I'll be here to assist you in fixing the size before inducing flowering. * One more newbie mistake here, is to run those C02 bags in a ventilated area. C02 is good in a closed area with controlled environment (AC or heater, fans, humidifier or dehumidifier). If you need to exhaust the air to control humidity and temps, your C02 gets exhaust with the air in the same time. C02 are good and necessary in a sealed room.
that feed chart is over the top , the a lot of snake oil in there that just want your money , lucas nailed it when he said that soil is a pretty much water only mix like i said never used those nutes, really dont use nutes at all , seaweed and worm casting go a long way in veg stage even if it needs it is there any way you can lean that plant over and smell the root zone on bottom , i ask because with 1500 ppm coming out there is big time salt buildup like lucas said
Hey! So I did a flush and waited a couple days. Then another yesterday. They're clawing and I'm thinking two things. Wind damage from the fan or over watering. Could also be a combination? Let know what you think! 18/6 lights, no nutes just water from flushing.
What a come back! They look so much healthier today! To confirm wind burn check if the only affected leaves are just a few ones straight where the fan is blowing. How high are your ppm now in plant 3? If readings are good then clawing could be remains of overfeeding but really we can see how the leaves are getting a lot more healthy. Overwatering, well, if ppms are not in a danger zone now, please try to come back to a regular watering schedule like you have been doing from the start; check soil moisture and water only when needed.
that PH needs to be in the mid sixes ! high sevens or eights not good at all i wouldnt worry about the ppms now get your ph in check first
Back! Did some more flushing 3 days ago as I’m still having difficulties getting the PPMs down. Taller plant is more water thirsty. I’m not adding nutes, just 6.5ph water. They’re still growing and there’s a bunch of fan leaves and small branches that aren’t getting much light. Trim them out? Let me know what you think! Thanks!
Did some trimming and watering yesterday. They’re still growing strong without nutes, 6.5ph, 18/6 lights. Will check PPMs in a couple days. Temp is around 73 and humidity is 51.
Trimmed a ton off. After a few days or so of recovery, I’ll then go to 12/12 and take more pics as to show progress.
