Nute burn starting?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Kaplow23, Mar 29, 2019.

  1. Thanks for the read and help in advance guys, appreciate it. This is my first grow ever.
    using RO water
    Temps in room 78F
    DWC water temp 70.2F
    Good ventilation
    1000watt KING LED 25” away for the last 2 weeks
    General hydroponic trio in use following there recommendations. And cal mag under recommended dose.
    PPM 1048. EC 2.234
    PH between 5.6-6.0
    We’re 3 1/2 weeks old today.
    Accidentally added too much PH down and it hit 3.8PH for about 20 mins 3 days ago. Added just RO water to bring it back up. Temp with lights off 69-71.

  2. I personally don't see any true signs of nute burn. Whatever you circled in red is not a sign of nute burn. Not sure what that is, but it doesn't look serious. Nute burn usually starts at the tips and works its way down the leaf. Though she looks good so far, PPM 1048/EC 2.234 seems a tad high for the stage she's in. How many weeks in veg is she? I personally would have her at around 500 ppm/1.0 EC by this time, but that's just me lol. Only thing I suggest is adjusting your pH from 5.6-6.0 to 5.8-6.0.

  3. She’s just about 4 weeks old now. Ive been following general hydroponics instructions. Right now the PH sits at 5.95 or so. Every day it goes up by .02 and stops rising when it hits 6.07, I kept the muted where they were at because I didn’t see any sign of the plant telling me it’s too high. So I should back off the nutes anyway?

  4. 6.07, or 6.1 it's all good. Let the pH go that high. it ain't bad. Sometimes plants adjust themselves and feel more comfortable at certain pH levels. Only adjust if they go up or down by a lot like from 6.0 to 6.5 or something like that.

    "So I should back off the nutes anyway?"

    I would if I were you. Don't follow nutrient charts to the dot. More is not always better. The doses are only raised as she gets bigger. If you're already feeding her 1048 ppm now, I'd hate to see how much you'll be feeding her by mid flower. Just measure out slightly smaller doses from each bottle to equal less ppm on your next feeding; maybe something around 800 to start? But if you feel she can handle that many ppm, then you can keep feeding her the way you have been. Just keep your eye on those leaf tips in case nute burn sneaks up on you.

  5. Thanks bud. I’ll keep a close eye on her. She’s not showing any sighs of nute burn so I’ll back off a little bit and keep it as is. She’s growing super fast and bounced back from topping in only a day.
