plants dont need nutes until about wk 2-4 depending on growing conditions. but a good ratio would be a 1-1-1 ratio, like: 10-10-10, or 20-20-20, or even a 24-8-16 would do for vegging plants. they need a higher N ratio, than flowering plants which require little N, & a higher P ratio.
I have a 24-8-16 and a 18-18-22 what do you think would be best for me? im around 4 weeks vegging and showing some signs of what i believe to be nitrogen deficiencies, yellowing leaves on the bottom.
yo dunn, make sure your water is the correct PH or it can lock out that good Nitrogen it needs. To basic or to acidic oh PH can cause many problems. i know this is a old thread but if 24-8-16 is good for veg then what is the ideal for flowering? 10-10-10???? thanks
For flowering you want something that is higher in Phosphorus and Potassium, yet still some nitrogen for growth. 10-30-20 may be suitable for you.
For seedlings I personally wouldn't use any nutrients. The soil should have everything you need for atleast a few weeks.
