Hey my name is John I'm from Florida I have only been smoking For about a year or two, but I still don't feel confident in smoking. So if anybody has any general advice I'd love to hear it. When I registered here I automatically clicked I am over 18 and then realized I actually am now lol, it's odd being able to buy cigars and pipes, so I don't use any homemade stuff not even my carved pipes, I have a rectangular inside out glass bowl, and a glass bubbler. I'm in England right now and the weed I have found doesn't seem great(leeds) and they don't like Americans so I figured wait until I get home, my gf is holding an ounce of dro for me, I haven't ever tried it before, I have only smoked like 3 or 4 strains. Once I get home I plan on buying a steamroller, I haven't ever used one before, And I haven't tried a lot of pipes, so if anyone has suggestions. The last thing is I was taught to always grind before packing and I keep looking into it and can't find any definite answers or pros and cons about grind or don't. I'm a joint smoker, for the most part, so I've got less valuable advice on pieces. But definitely get a grinder. If you just pack in full nugs, they're not going to burn evenly. Do you know the strain name of the stuff you've got waiting for you back at home? Just curious.
Thanks man, honestly I don't enjoy it here lol but it's a nice vacation Not sure on specifics I'm from a small town and if you can get good weed generally not gonna be picky, but I keep getting told its "fire dro" which means nothing to me I don't know any dealers anymore(is that kinda terminology ok here? Not sure if its cool being indescrite lol) so I have to buy through friends I bought an herb grinder online a few days ago so it should be waiting at home for me, but i usually just use my hands. it's been a while since I have rolled a joint or blunt I have only used tops or cigarillo, but I assume rolling papers don't differ much? Beyond size or taste?
Welcome man. Have you ever hit a bong? Much smoother and much harder hits then pipes IMO. That's what I would recommend. Yes grinding is way better than just sticking a nug in your bowl. It allows more air flow and it burns much better and more consistently.
I haven't ever had a real glass bong, only made out of bottle and such But only ever had any good hits from like small 16 ounce bottles and a one hitter Are glass bongs a must have? Or would acrylic bongs work the same? Iv seen small acrylic lookin one at my local shop What would be a good size? Can you take smaller hits with a large bong? I haven't ever personally even used a real bong but iv seen glass ones with percolators or steamroller type ones I'm not really willing to invest In an expensive glass bong right now tho, don't have my own place
IMO Glass bongs are a must have, but that's just me. I had a 17 in. Acrylic for a while until it go rolled by the cops. I loved it, until I got a glass bong for myself. I would never go back to acrylic. I fact I was so spoiled by my glass bong, that I wouldn't take hits from anything else practically, except for J's and my friends bongs. 12 in. and up are pretty good sizes, anything less is too small, again IMO. I prefer anything over 15 in. And yes you can take small hits with bongs, but it won't be long before you build up the lungs to rip the hell out of it.

just sayin, glass bong is for sure the best way to go. if you aren't able to buy a bong right now though, just get a glass pipe or a bubbler. they both will get the job done. in my opinion, using solely just papers is pretty wasteful compared to glass
The bowl in my glass pipe is broken so I might get another one But my bubbler, maybe I'm using it wrong but I don't like it that much lol Maybe it'll be better once I try some new stuff on it
I'll be home in a couples days so i dont have a picture, but its a pretty basic inside out glass Sherlock bubbler, looks like a toilet lol But it looks basically like this I haven't used any others so I don't know if the inner workings are the same, the stem goes into the bottom chamber with water and above there's inside around the bowl where the carb is, and then the little bowl thing in the stem than catches extra water
It's just hard to use, it's smaller than my hand and I burn my face lighting it, and idk how bubblers are supposed to be but it doesn't cool or smooth the smoke like a bong it's still pretty harsh, and I just can't get the hang of the carb lol
is it one of the abnormally small bubblers? one of my buddies had one that looked like yours and it was so tiny it felt like the flame had to be so close to your face to light it. i've seen other larger ones with that same design that hit well though.
Yeah I can't really see the bowl well when lighting, it's uncomfortable but it still works, easy to get burnt
I have trouble with that lol but thanks ill try that more often Blunts seem to waste too much to me, and I'm usually smoking alone
