  1. Hello GC I am new, and looking to start my first grow live in the UK and I know by reading through some really good threads that I have a lot to get my head round. Helpful advice would be much appreciated. I love the idea of no soil and smell is a big factor i would like to eliminate!! The size of my tent is: 80cm x 80cm x 160cm and that's all I have so far so I am looking at this on eBay
AUTOPOT EASY2GROW 2 POT GROW SYSTEM COMPLETE. GROWING MADE EASY. AUTO POT. http://bit.ly/YmoEXQ

4 INCH FAN KIT COMPLETE RAM PHAT FULL KIT DUCTING AND PHAT CARBON FILTER http://bit.ly/RV4h7h

  5. my advice to you is grow a few plants in soil first. learn how to read your plants, get to know their requirements. then move on to hydro if you still want to because you will have enough to learn just growing the plants without learning hydro too

  6. Thanks for the advice (think am going to need a lot)I will take it and start in soil for my first grow, it's just that living in a block off apartments and having to carry compost in and out is not going to be easy!! But to think of it I do have a large hiking rucksack.....
Also how loud is the setup going to be when in full swing ? because the is people living above and below my spare room witch my tent will be in. Is the any way you can dampen the noise?

    Thanks :)

  7. i hear you mate, im in the same position. compost is always a giveaway when the person carries a huge bag in to an apartment block with no garden haha

extractor fans can make a noise, i mean when its running through the night and your neighbour upstairs is lying in bed in the night when all is quiet they may well hear it. if noise ever come up in conversation say you keep tropical fish and its the bubbling of the water that they probably can hear.

smell will be your biggest issue, get a carbon filter, get two if you have room. they work really well as long as the heat and humidity are low

cover your bag of compost with a plastic bag for when you bring it in. keep bags and boxes in your car for when you need to bring grow supplies in so they are out of site. disposing of spent soil can be a pain, but if all goes well you may well move to hydro and you wont have to deal with it. soil growing is far simpler though

  8. Hey lloydy good luck with your first grow i am just gearing up to starting with my 2nd. If noise is going to be an issue for you as it was for me i would recommend using a 250w or 400w light max but you may get heat issues so i would stick with 250.. It may also be a good idea to invest in a fan speed controller like this one

Get yourself a good quality organic soil and nutrient range it will be far easier to manage for a first time.. I bought 95% of my stuff as a complete kit it eliminated a lot of confusion for me..

  9. Big thanks to all for taking there time to give me there advice much appreciated
Can't wait to get started :)
