So I live with my parents and I know my dad was a pot head when he was in high school and college and likes weed. He often (every month or so) would casually make a joke about getting a med maryjane card an start growing plants in our back yard. He knows I smoke weed and is ok with it as long as my mom doesn't find out. Anyway today he had me put a box of wine in his wine room when something caught my eye, it was a little steel bowl with the top that slides in a circle. Something that wouldn't catch your attention if you have never seen one before (I had one that was my first piece when I was 14). In the bowl was ash that smelled suspiciously like burnt marijuana. I compared it to the smell from my bowl just to be sure and they were identical. That got me thinking "does my dad smoke weed or is it possible that he smokes tobacco out of it or something and it just happens to smell similar?" but that wouldn't make sense cuz who would smoke tobacco out of something that small? I snapped a pic of the bowl to my brother who is a sophomore at U of M and he didn't know what to make of this either. My current evidence points to weed but that would just open a huge door of other questions. Where would a 50 yr old man illegally get weed from? When would he smoke weed and where? Since when has he been doing this? anyway I'm considering just asking "hey whats the bowl in your wine room for?". What do you guys think I should make of this? Note: only thing Ive ever seen my dad smoke is an occasional cigar, never tobacco from a pipe.
I think you should just ask him. The way you tell it he's pretty cool about weed. I think you're just anxious because it's your father and you wouldn't have expected to have this convo with him.

Well I would assume at this point if he hasn't told you theres a reason. It's your dad, you know him better than any of us, so you decide what to do.

Where would a 50 year old man get weed illegally? The same place anyone else would. I assume he has a social life, its not that hard to track down some herb. My dads 63 and been smoking 45 years.

If I knew my dad you better bet he would sit and have a bowl with me.
The main problem is if your mother is dead set against it and she discovers you both smoke with each other then it's going to cause a rift between your mother and father. But then again life is too short not to have a few smoke sessions with your pops.

The post before it was deleted explained this grasscity user sedatedindividual contacted this 14 year old boy through his dads profile. The dad allowed the kid to use his profile because they shared the same bond. So the dad ranted about this pedophile asking where his boy lives and where his mommy and daddy are in the evenings.. As for you and the other kid who told me to chill the fuck out. You need to know the damn situation before you butt in and make a stupid remark.
