Not sure if over-fert or nute deficient?

  1. Hey all, having some troubles with the girls. They're 39 days old. They vegged for the first 30 days in Fox Farm Happy Frog soil with no additional nutes.
They were in 1 gal pots until yesterday, under 1x400w MH and 1x600 HPS. They're still in 18/6 lighting.

They were super happy with life until the last week or so when they started showing signs of deficiencies.

I've since started with the full Fox Farm line, incl. solubles and bushdoctor beneficials. I started with a half strength feeding, they reacted well, so the next day I applied another half strength feeding. Left the next day dry, and on the fourth day I went with a 3/4 strength feeding which is where I think I went wrong. I felt that since they were deficient I should try and build nutrient levels back up in the soil before giving them a plain water feeding.

They started to burn so I flushed with half strength sledgehammer flushing solution at 2x their normal feeding. It's been 3 days since then. I up-potted to 5gal in a mix of 1/3 perlite, 1/3 happy frog, 1/3 ocean forest soil. I think they might be looking a touch better in the fresh soil. I am not sure about PH levels, I will look into picking up a PH pen, and perhaps an EC meter.

Temps in the room are at 77f. [IMG][IMG]

  2. is that an Mg deficiency + nute burn at the same time? lol

  3. what is your PH?

  4. I don't have a ph meter. I'll snag some test strips at work today. Maybe ph is way low you think?

  5. not necessarily, if it is too high then you will get lock out of some critical nutrients which can cause serious deficiencies.

  6. Given that I had been adding those ferts, though? I'd assume that skews ph down

  7. Id call that one lack of organic soil :p

  8. Growing proper organics was too much money for the purposes of this grow. Next go round will be 100% organic, will compare yields and taste.

I know it doesn't have to be expensive, but I'm an all or nothing guy. It was cheaper to do a run with bottles, and I'm still not convinced its not the better option when dialed in.

  9. Whatever the issue is was with the leaves it hasn't stopped them yet. They're springing right up in their new pots.

I added some pre bloom ferts last night, and I think they reacted well. Im still not convinced they aren't deficient in some way.

I think the discoloration on the leaves is turning back and it isn't on new growth.

Up potted my widow at an angle to train her lower branches up since she wasn't getting very tall (read midget), and in the past few days since the up pot they are making fast progress in catching up with the apical meristem.

Charging ahead then, I guess. Planning on switching to flower in four days to a week, unless anyone has objections?
