Not sure if it's male...

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by SeanOChuinn, May 4, 2023.

  1. Hello everyone, looking for some opinions. We bought feminized weed seeds and I'm sure it's possible a male one slips in every now and again, but any ideas if this is male or female? We're growing two plants side by side about a week in time apart, in terms of physical size they are identical, both seeds are from the same seed batch but "buds" looking VERY different...

I've attached screen shots of both. Thanks everyone. IMG_20230504_154554.jpg IMG_20230504_154258.jpg 16832249976795683611932411865555.jpg

  2. Brilliant thanks folks, I couldn't see pollen sacks and was thinking (hoping) it was female alright. Perfect, thank you so much.

  3. Yeah on females you'll see swollen calyxes under bud sights that some mistake as seed pods or pollen sacks but they are usually empty, sometimes you'll get a random seed here n there in a bud but it's normal.

If you Google pictures of female and male plants you'll quickly learn the difference and it's really easy to tell once you got the idea.

  8. still not sure you understand how it works once a plant is in flower it will die of within 10 weeks

  9. Like the other guy said, your plants have already started flowering. They will finish flowering and then die long before October.
Once flowering starts it can't (normally) be stopped. Your plants will need to harvested in weeks, not months.

  10. They're going to go back to the veg stage, and then re flower,I did the same thing last year, you'll still harvest in October, but they will be ugly plants all summer
