Been working out for about four years now.... At first I lost twenty pounds but now ive been at the same weight for about 3 years. I'm sick of it. I have cheerleading practice twice a week for 2 1/2 hours a day. Then I hit the gym once or twice or week, so i get exercise almost everyday. My diets not the best, but I get terrible cravings. I'm ready to just eat once a day. I want to be skinnnnnnnnnnnny. I'm not fat, but I'm still insecure with being in a bathing suit. Everyones told me the reprocussions of starving yourself, but the times I have done it my body looks significantly better. I'm tired of feeling inadequate. advice?
Sorry to say, the best way to lose weight is improve your diet. Multiple small meals spaced through the day. You know what foods are healthy, so no need to list them. Cut out fast food/soda/crap completely. Starving yourself may work short term, but its completely unsustainable, and more importantly terrible for your health. Its suprisingly simple, but not easy to lose weight. You say your diet is not the best, so make it the best you can, rather than look for some cop out like starving yourself. Good luck.
High Intensity Interval Training proper diet, diet is key to weight loss, you can workout all day but unless you eat properly it won't mean shit, and starving yourself is very unhealthy If you commit to losing weight, you will lose it.
please don't starve yourself. To echo everyone else, it is absolutely terrible for your health. Switching to a healthy foods diet is indeed simple, nutritious and rewarding. that said, i hate that society has made it so that people of different sizes feel uncomfortable in their own skin. I say, fuck that, fuck the social norms, and if anyone has anything to say about it, tell em to go get bent /rant
If you starve yourself you'll put the weight back on right away. Try drinking more water, eating smaller more nutrient dense meals.
Multiple small meals a day is only helpful if they actually fill you. Try what everyone is saying, but make sure the meals are filling. Brown rice and whole wheat pasta go a long way in that regard. In reality the multiple meals a day don't actually do anything to affect your metabolism in a positive way, but it can help with appetite control for some people. Try doing your cardio in the morning before you eat. You will burn more fat this way. Cardio very soon after a meal can be counterproductive as your insulin will be pretty high and limit fat mobilization. Just get your diet on point in a way that works for you and is sustainable for a long time. Diet is a huge part of losing weight- more so than exercise in my opinion.
You need to change your diet. Eating one meal a day won't contribute to weight loss. Eat 6 meals a day, small, and count calories. Guaranted way to lose weight. Exercise is only half the battle.
Diet is number one. Figure out your maintenance calories and subtract 500 from them. That is your daily allowance. Then divide that into 3-5 meals evenly and don't eat 3 hours before bed. Get exercise at least 3 times a week, preferably 5, and then just give it time and patience. I lost over 70 lbs. and built a lot of muscle like this, its fundamental body chemistry that holds true for anyone.
dude its not society that does this its in our genes. I Agree people should be able to be comfortable in their own skin but humans were meant to be fit and healthy and that isnt a problem if your hunting your own meals and living the the wild but obviously things arnt like that anymore. Being fat isnt bad (except for health reasons) but the reason skinny and muscles are more attractive is because it shows to a woman that you are capable or providing just like a curvey woman is more attractive cause it shows that she can bear children easier with bigger hips and all. We dont think about it consciously but its programmed into our brains
HIIT BABY! On a more serious note, do not eat once a day... yes you need to be a calorie deficit but you need nutrition. I'd say three small meals a day, ALL OF THEM CONTAINING PROTEIN/CARBS/VEGETABLES. Honestly, six meals a day doesn't do it for me... when I did that I had more trouble eating less at each meal and it was a pain for me to make 6 meals a day. Personally, 3 meals a day is best for me. Diet is key here.
