Not getting high off edibles?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by broompeople, Aug 15, 2017.

  1. The other day I ate 7 edibles within 24 hours and felt NOTHING. If anything, I was a little tired and groggy the next day... that's about it. This is my second time trying edibles too. No matter how many I take, they won't get me high. Why is that? I thought they're supposed to get you super baked.

  2. Where did they come from- were they home made or dispensary? If the cannabis has not been decarbed it will not get you high.

  3. Maybe your edibles are super rich on CBD only. Or, it is possible that raw cannabis may have been used in the edibles without getting it decarboxylated. The original cannabis plant won't get you high. Where did you get them from?

Been making my own high grade hash oil for my medical issue since 2011 and have made and consumed just about 20,000 hash caps over the past years and empirical testing tells me decarb
240 F for 40 minutes does as near a full activation as you'll get for the most bang from your product.
We all want to get all we can from a given amount of material. I grow and I grow a fair amount but I still want all I can get in each capsule.
To much oil will give me the runs so I need the oil to be as bloody potent as possible as I never sober up now.
    No T breaks in years.

    Decarbing 30 grams of hash

    Caps

A couple of them will launch anybody into space.
A quarter filled cap is still a heavy dose for most people.
    5 grams decarbed hash (decarb = 240 F for 40 minutes)
    1 tablespoon oil
    1/2 teaspoon lecithin
Heat 220 F for 20 min, Freeze, Reheat, Done, Cap
Makes 30 (0) sized killer caps

  6. It's a long post but here's my experience with it all. I hope you get something out of it.

Decarbing / activating converts THCA to THC so when you eat it you get high. I'm sure what you're doing in the oil is doing a little bit of the decarb effect but it's nothing like when a full decarb is done.

Use a fatty oil ( concerns us is coconut oil) so the THC binds to those fats. People digest and then metabolize the fats in things for energy and therefore first and quickly. The THC goes along for the ride.

It's also the concensus that lecithin is a great emulsifier and helps bind all of the THC to the fats in the oil. Where using a fatty oil helps with faster onset, lecithin helps them hit harder. Yes they both add a huge punch to the amount of ganja used. It absolutely makes a difference!

This last time I made ganja caps I wanted to know if it was a noticeable difference or not when both coconut oil and lecithin was used vs not used. So I decarbed the ganja for the recipe, filled three gel caps with a total of 3/8 of a gram of decarbed ganja that I powdered up, ate them on a mostly empty stomach and waited on the results.

It took almost 2 hours to feel something and about 2 1/2 hours to peak (I set a kitchen timer). I have to say I was pretty fucking baked. As I was waiting on the effects I finished the ganja caps using the coconut oil and lecithin granules followed by two freezing and two heating cycles.

These are far more effective in every way. They start to hit in about 45 minutes and peak in about an hour. I had a cup of coffee and a bite of toast with the 3 gel caps. Three of these are deep couch lock. Can't sleep? 3 of these guarantee 8 plus hours. What pain? Even after my buzz is gone the pain in my back and knees sits in the background for a good 8 hours between doses.

So for me personally it makes a huge difference between decarbing ganja and not doing it. Another important factor is how you process your ganja as well. Do everything just right and it comes out amazing, it does however start with a proper decarb.

It was the users BrassNwooD, PsychdealicSam and badkittysmiles that got me mostly sorted. These people and so many others have allready done so much of the leg work of getting the absolute most out of edibles. You will learn so fucking much about all sorts of amazing ganja related shit it will blow your mind, just look up thier posts. I kid you not!

Decarb = 240 F for 40 minutes. This is unchanged for years now.
Oil processing = 220 F for 20 minutes when working with 3 tablespoons of oil.
More oil will need more time. 1 cup = 60 minutes but that's a whopping amount of oil and you just don't need that.
Freezing and reheating will change it to a better sleep aid. Up to 4-6 more heat and freeze cycles
    .
Internal temps of all baked goods are well below our decarb and processing temps so they are not part of the equation. Bake all canna containing goods at normal times and temps.
Makes it easy doesn't it ??
I've made and taken just short of 20,000 hash caps now going off my gel caps empty bags.so I think I know what I'm doing by now. Yes that is Twenty Thousand :) Ok 19,500 as I've given away about 500 low dose RSO grades
