Northerns CFL Closet Grow w/pics

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by tlotsk, Nov 30, 2012.

  1. Hey everyone, Heres my journal for my first grow of Northern's. Its a cheap grow using 4 Cfls 3 2700k 1 6500k, Mg potting soil, three gallon pot. 87 and up temperatures grown in my closet with little to no ventilation.

I have been taking a pic of it everyday as it grows and am
currently at day 15 since it sprouted. To recap she sprouted in around 4 days from just putting the seed in damp soil. I transplanted her from a solo cup to a 3 gallon pot on the 7th day and watered it every 4-5 days.On day 14 I put her on 12/12 with 3 2700k, 1 6500k from her usually 18/6 3 6500k, 1 2700k as I am doing a single plant and want to try the 12/12 from seed method. I know the yield won't be as good but I will try LST and a longer vegetative state for a future grow.

Anyways here are some pics :D

  7. You gotta set up some sort of air movement in there bro
Looks good tho. Especially with temps in the 90's! :p

  8. Yea your probably right, I heard a fan helps strengthen the stems as well. I have a 19” 3 speed box fan, Ill place that in front of the pot facing the lights.

  9. It's growing well bro. But excessive heat can cause problems that stunt growth
Let us kno when u get a fan in there!

subbed. Curious to see how your closet grow turns out. Im growing a NL auto also in my closet. The fan will help a bunch. Mine keeps my temps around 77-79. I don't want to spend anymore on my closet set up right now since I invested so much into my flowering room. The leaves on your Northern Lights look much broader than mine. Almost indica-like. Is your NL an Auto strain? Check out my grow when you get a chance. Careful on the nutes the NL seems to be sensitive to them

I guess NL is indica? I always thought it was sativa. Anyone know?

  11. You all gotta understand that a decent set-up can produce good buds. But a set-up lacking one or more facets makes it more difficult to even produce decent buds.

Dont skimp on the propper supplies. It pays off in the end. Not having the funds is always an issue. Jus make sure u spend ur money wisely. Like getting good vent setup is key now. More important than nutes IMO. Especially since ur using MG soil. It has a fuck-ton of nutrients already

    Goodluck fellas

  12. "fuck-ton"? Nice.

  13. MG soil is HOT.
    Fact.

Not sure if ur being smart or what... I was only trying to help:eek:

  14. I know you were bro. I just really like your word and am probably going to steal it. I know its hot thats why I don't use it. ;)

  15. My bad, Ive been running into mad dickheads here lately.. Little defensive My bad.:D

The strain im using is a hybrid of both sativa and indica but is more dominantly indica.

Also its not an auto flower just regular non fem.

  17. Day 21: Shes now 9 inches tall. Fan is in and temperatures dropped to around 79-82 F. Anyways when does she start to smell? I have two ona blocks ready for when the time comes but already I have had a visitor claim it smelled of skunk . I blamed the air wick plugin and Im hoping that it was just a fluke as I don't smell anything yet.
