I noticed some stems turning purple so I'm trying to pinpoint the problem or deficiency. I'm in a 2x4 with Qty: 3 AC Infinity IonGrid 2x2 lights coming in with a total of 390W at 2ft above canopy. I started out all organic but around 1 month ago I started feeding Fox Farm Trio. The medium is Fox Farm Ocean Forrest. The temp and humidity are a nice and steady 72°F - 75°F during the day with 68°F low at night. The humidity hovers steady around 50% to 55%. I give non-nitrate Cal-Mag, water soluble Dutch Science brand with every other watering. I tested my soil with an at home kit and the phosphorus was abundant. I'm thinking possibly a sulfur deficiency but I'm not sure. Figured I'd ask some professionals. Thanks!! Sent from my SM-F916U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
i would hate to see such a well trained plant go south i hope you get it dialed in 1 question have you let the pot dry out ever or do you keep it wet all the time?
ive noticed my NL plants have purplish red color too ...think ive let the pot dry out some time in last few week ,,but i dont know if its what made the that color,,, my plants look ok and healthy ,,so i wouldnt worry to much you plant look ok to...mac
That plant is fine. The leaf edge curl is from to intense of lighting. You also have some leaf tip burn,I'd back down on your feeds. Both of the above mentioned things can contribute to the petitole color. Although,it is common on northern lights.
It has dried out a few times throughout its life but not recently. I have it in am AutoPot 6 gal but I decided to bypass the reservoir and just bottom water. When I feed, I will not bottom water for a few days prior and then I will top water with nutes. The funny thing is, this NL was supposed to be an Auto lol but she just kept vegging so I switch led the light cycle from 24hrs to 18/6, low stress trained woth some super cropping on certain pain in the ass branches and then once she got to the height I liked I switched to 12/12 lol not exactly what I signed up for but I figured I'd run it. She's been an amazing plant, not temperamental at all, strong and active. She did get some nute burn when I switched from top dressing organic to Fox Farm Trio, but just on the very tippity tips of the leaves. I've lollipopped everything below the trellis and recently added some sulfur when I noticed the purple just in case, not a crazy amount but just enough to see if it would affect the purple. The phosphorus is good, as I checked it thru a mad chemist style soil test kit. My ppm is 1050 and the PH is at 6.5 steady. Maybe it's a strain attribute , hopefully it's a strain attribute... lol but as you said, I was worried because she's came so far and has done great , I'd hate to fudge things up in the 9th inning Sent from my SM-F916U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I've trained the crap out of her and it didn't even phase her. Its done so well it actually gave me an idea I've been playing around with. On my next plant I'm going to weave and braid the branches kinda like a bird cage, and have my garden gnome in the middle lol thought it would make a cool picture Sent from my SM-F916U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Oh. I also ran an Earth Ground to the pot/soil and tested it, So she's grounded. I was curious as to what differences it might make. My thinking was if I put her into contact/communication with the earth as she was meant to be, maybe it would keep her super happy and she would really think she was outside and produce an above average harvest Sent from my SM-F916U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
