noob question

    Since theres no forum to post marijuana questions (there should be, in my opinion) i'll post it here.

    What is the significance of a clearhole on a glass pipe? What gets you higher, a bong or a glass peice with a clearhole?

    I'm asking because my friend said he can get me a piece and i told him i wanted a glass peice with a clear hole. Why? I was told glass pieces are the best kind, and i'm used to smoking out of bongs so working a clearhole like a habit now.

    first.. theyre called carbs

    they basically just help you get larger amounts of smoke at once.. like an unfiltered mini-bonghit.. or you can just use it as an air intake if your lungs are hurtin

    a bong might get you a tiny bit higher, but they can burn up bowls reaaally fast

    As I understand it it's called a carb because it's a carberator (sp?) i.e. something used to control the flow of air. I could be really, really wrong though. Whatever. Yeah, it's called a carb.

    yeah... just like the carbeurator in an engine adds air to the gas, the carb on a piece allows you to pull a stream of fresh air through the piece which kinda shoots the smoke down into your lungs a bit more :D

    So if used correctly, a piece with a carb WILL get you more stoned than a piece without a carb?

    yeah, a bowl with a carb will give you better hits than one without (generally speaking). bongs usually get ya more stoned than bowls, but that's just because you get so much more smoke with each hit.

    It's called a rush hole in England.... nobody calls it a carb here.

    By the way.... a bong without a rush is basically a pipe...... lol

    i think this is the first time in a while that i haven't toked in a week. oh wow i'm going to be blazed.

    anyways, here are some basic stuff you should know.

    -the metalic elements you should never smoke out of
    -the kind of paper you shouldn't smoke
    -the basic terms for baggies (dime bag, etc)
    -what it means to crush buds
    -the various strains of bud
    -the effects of marijuana on your body
    -how long they last (including non-thc trace material)
    -legal issues involving possession and soforth
    -various objects people use to smoke bud
    -how to get bud, and how to treat your dealer with respect =]
    etc.
