noob question about after havesting

  1. after harvesting and picking the buds, what happens to the plant, does it die and you start a new grow with clones or seeds all over again? i couldn't find any info and never found an answer. sorry for such a noob question, thanks in advance

  2. in order to get the buds off. you got to cut off the branchs. Most of the time the plant will die, just take clones early on in the grow, and keep doing it that way. the plants benefit from this too as they become stronger. Correct me if i am wrong....

  3. MJ is an annual plant. It grows for one season then dies, setting new seed for the next year.

  4. Well I agree with Spanishfly but...with an inside grow we can alter the plants life span that depends on the light cycle as it's clock. Once an indoor grow is harvested if enough of the plant is left......meaning a few sets of leafs or a couple of lower branches that my just have little popcorn buds on them then putting the plant back into 18/6 or 24/0 will bring the plant back into veg state.

  5. Yeah i have heard this to be true but they say it takes a LONG time to produce new growth again. id go with the clone way but if youre too late for clones and this is the only ay to continue the strain go for it.

  6. Yes, I have heard of people keeping a mother alive under lights indoors for several years, permanently vegging.

  7. Gees...for several years!!! Try something new for goodness sake.

  8. If you have the means/space in your veg area, keeping a mother of a good strain is a great way to work from getting clones from her and flowering them constantly, A mother will keep in vegatative as long as you care for her correctly (not inducing flowering)

  9. A mother plant is different than a plant matured to bud and harvested. A mother is good for spawning clones and can be kept in veg for an extended period. After I harvest a plant there is little left but a stalk, time to start over.
