Non-peanutbutter Firecracker

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by smoketrail420, Jul 9, 2011.

  1. I have a friend (one and only stoner friend) with an insane all nuts allergy ( he wont die but he will puff up and need to see a doctor) and we both really want to try some quick easy and inconspicuous edibles. I of course thought of firecrackers, I've heard about them everywhere, but we cant use any nut butter. Theres a local place that sells Sunbutter, which is butter made from sunflower seeds.
First we're going to check with a little to see if he's allergic at all, then we're going to try and make some.

    Will it work?

Edit: By the way, first time post, I've lurked forever without an account. :)

  2. nutella :D

actually now that i think of it i think theres hazelnuts in there. um, find something fat and oily. thats why people use peanut butter, fat and oily.

  3. The oils from the sunflower seeds should work just as well assuming that is safe for him.

Welcome to the city by the way.:smoke:

  4. Only a small number of people are allergic to coconuts, and they are almost never also allergic to tree-nuts. Coconut oil, or coconut butter in the case of a firecracker, is generally safe for people with tree nut allergies, but ask your friend to check with his doctor first. Palm oil is generally safe as well, where it comes directly from the tree rather than a nut.

It will be greasier, and your crackers will be soggier, but this is a good thing... this is due to the higher fat/oil content versus peanut butter. The peanut butter won't be there to drown out the taste as much, so feel free to open and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar once finished, if you think he'll have a tough time getting them down 'au natural'..

    Artisana, 100% Organic Raw Coconut Butter, 16 oz (454 g) - iHerb.com

    "Artisana Coconut Butter

    Other Ingredients

    100% organic raw coconut.

Contains absolutely no peanuts, gluten, dairy or GMOs.

Made in a facility that processes tree nuts and soy"

    And...

"Many people wonder if coconut, nutmeg, water chestnuts and shea nuts are nuts. The coconut is in the palm family, and while it is possible to be allergic to coconut…it doesn’t cross react with tree nuts. " - Tree Nut Allergy

Coconut oil is my preferred 'edible solvent' when processing canna. :)
