  1. Hey City,

I am starting to get into plants. Today I ordered a bunch of seeds to grow some plants- I plan on growing a coffee tree, a few different types of trees (maple, birch..) and some various succulent seeds.

I know other people on GC must have some cool plants to show off.......

This is my garden so far:

This guy I got today, it is a crescent plant

This guy I got as a gift from a friend so I'm not sure what it is

    Another gift

    And another gift

My pine tree- I rescued this from a storm, I'm thinking of turning it Bonsai

A plant bearing berries that was growing next to the tree

My aloe plants: Top one is the younger one (leaves only about 6")

This ones leaves are about 14-15" long

  2. The aloe tree will be good for when you burn yourself schmokin'. Really soothes the sting of the burn and helps it heal.

  3. i really love planting stuff. I was gonna make a thread about it soon, but never got around to it. I'll post pics soon, i got some really nice tomato plants growing, and they just started flowering a few days ago. Also, my cucumbers are growing like CRAZY. I have like 5 plants, and like 5 flowers on each plant. I've got only one pepper, and one eggplant, and unfortunately very few flowers. I got lots of herbs (non cannabis) too! Tons of mint, and a good amt of basil. Cilentro (sp), rosemary, and this other thing called Lemon verbina. it smells just like lemon! Recently planted a peach tree, and its doing great. I got a bunch of morning glorys/ moon flowers growing also. those are vining plants. Morning glorys open at like 4 am and close by 11. Moon flowers open at 6 and fall off in the morning. They havnt started flowering yet, but i noticed some buds this morning. Gardening is such a great hobby :hello:

  4. That second one looks like a cool succulent, I'm trying to grow something like that from a cutting.

  5. yea, I love almost any succulent. I can't wait till I own a home and have a green house out back.

Next year I want to grow a dwarf orange tree, and I want to grow some kiwi

  6. Ahhh it's good to see others that garden plants other than cannabis. I enjoy gardening, and eating the food you grew yourself is quite amazing. Right now I have pea plants, scullcap, mugwort, pole beans, mint, and some flowers growing. I Have a few pictures, but they were from a few weeks ago and I don't feel like finding the digital camera to take new ones :p

This is a pic of some African Daisies I had... I made a bouquet with some other flowers and that one and gave it to a lovely lady :D

This is a picture of a bunch of scullcap I'm growing. You can look up what it's used for on google, I'm not sure myself ;) but I've read it's a mild sedative/relaxant.

This is a picture of my beans... I didn't get one of my peas, but both taste great.

  7. Nice,

    Those flowers look really bright

  8. I like the plants your friends gave you as gifts... you should try to figure out what they are, I might have to grow some of those.

  9. try going ot walmart- they have a good selection of succulents

How long do peas take to grow?

  10. How do you turn a tree bonsai

  11. well not turn it, just start to train it and keep it small. It's only about 7" right now

  12. ok, then, how do you train a tree to bonsai

  13. Peas.... hmm, they took me about 2 and a half months outside to grow them with a good amount of flowering. I was harvesting as early as the beginning of July.

  14. Wow,

I just looked around now, and I have 14 pots with plants in them- as well as a whole tray of hebs I just started.

I started growing some potatos and some garlic.

THe hebs include- basil (sweet), basil (spicy globe), rosemary, mint (spearmint), chives, and for my cat some catnip.

I also have two plants (you know what plants I'm talking about) I am experimenting with, maybe start reducing the need to purchase a little bit.

My pine tree is moved outdoors, doing fine. The berries were eaten (o well thats nature).

The succulents- well they don't do much.

The aloe is about the same size because of an unfortunate accident. It was on the floor catching some extra rays of sun, when I accidentally knocked over a board which chopped a leaf in half. It kinda stunted the plant for a bit- but it's back on track.

I have a sanseveria (aka snake plant) which I am trying to propagate some cuttings as we speak.

There is also a plam, it's pretty common although I do not know the name off the top of my head.

My grandmother has given me two plants (I don't know if I really like them or not). One is a christmas cactus. The other is a christs thorn plant. It has some spikes on it- and when they form they are a nice shade of pink (like bold).

But yea- I love my indoor garden- so much so I am going to talk to my landlord about having a spot outside this spring. I don't think he will mind, he had his garden lastyear- growing everything. Corn, tomatos, cucumbers, peppers, etc. the normal garden.

I wish I lived in a warmer climate though- or had a greenhouse.

  15. Some Pics of my indoor garden:

Potatos are very odd plants as you can see. They are hairy (makes me laugh :p ) and the heads remind me of the plant monster on The Little Shop of Horrors.

Garlic is another odd looking plant. A flower will soon form, at which point I must cut it off to encourage the actual vegetable to grow.

    My Herb Setup

Some Basil, Chives, theres some catnip, rosemary, and mint all growing in this setup.

And some experimental plants. I plan on growing them very low, but winding- a modified LST. I don't know, I don't expect much, but it will be cool to see how it goes.

In the next couple of weeks I will start some Peas some tomatos, chards, Mesclun, and onions.

It's gonna be a good harvest people.

Anyone have some plants to show off?

  16. Well last night I put some of the herbs into pots so I can start giving some away, I ended up getting some clay pots (good size I think 3 or 3.5") at A.C. Moore for like 29¢ ea. added with the cost of the seeds and soil and electricity each plant is only worth about $1. Thats amazing! :D

I also repotted my marijuana plants- and my cat got into the room and ate them. She didn't bother with the catnip sprouts (which I am growing specifically for her), the basil, garlic, potatos, or any of the other plants in the garden room, just the marijuana. She destroyed them, one of which she ate the roots and all, the other one was missing all the leaves.

So I started up a few more seeds of that, I also started some chards, peas, some lima beans, some mesclun (it's a salad), and tomatos. Once they start sprouting I'll post more pics.

  17. I have a few cactuses, but I've always wanted a bonsai tree.

Like, that's the coolest concept ever, a tiny little tree.

Someone should try to grow a bonsai pot plant...

  18. I always wanted to stick my hand in a Venus Fly Trap...

  19. Check out Skittles micro grow journal (Link) I remember hearing that he didn't even try to keep it this small, it just would not grow bigger.

Also check This Thread out, they grow plants using only 88ml cups.
