No Weed = Depression??

  1. Hey Grasscity, recently I was busted by the rents (over 18 but live at home) and quite my job right before this happened, I have a new job but I don't get paid for a couple weeks so am pretty much broke. This isn't the only bad thing that's been happening but lately, since I haven't been smokin the herb, I've noticed I've become quite depressed. I have no motivation to do anything at all, and I just feel... sad. Now these other things that have been happening, though not great, are nothing unusual and have never put me in this mood before, but then again I've always had the herb on my side to help mellow me out and make me happy regardless of the situation. Anyone else think this depressive state could be caused by lack of weed? I went from smoking 3-5 times a day to none. I'm sure there's something to it but I was just curious if anyone else has gone through this or has anything to say on the topic.

  2. I think we all go through something like this at some point. I mean, you were used to being high pretty much all the time. So now you are experiencing some of what the weed was masking. Maybe your really are depressed and the weed was you sort of self medication. More likely then not your just wishing you were able to smoke all the time still and thats whats bringing you down. Something we all have to deal with from time to time. Keep active and find things to do to keep ur mind off weed. Your brain is just conditioned to be high now. Give it a few days or even a week. If stuff doesn't start looking up then you might want to find someone you feel comfortable really talking to, and figure out whats really the cause of the feelings ur having.

  3. Yo Dude, THC screws with vitamin C levels as well as B vitamin levels. Golden Seal teal will help to extract the residual THC from your fat cells, this will minimize withdrawals by pushing low doses of THC back into your sysytem. B vitamins will mellow out your nervous system. I would strongly suggest mega dosing a quality vitamin B complex. You can't overdose because your body will expell the extra. The B vitamins will also stabilize mood swings related to marijuana abstinence.

  4. Just a thought of mine - I don't think its smart to preach the benefits of a dietary supplement in a way that makes it seem like it is 100% effective 100% of the time. Supplements affect people differently. There's a reason supplements are not approved by the FDA.

    Is It Really FDA Approved?

Unless you have a medical journal to support your post, I don't think anyone should take it as fact.

  5. i just read the other day that if you stop smoking weed after u been taostin for a while 1 of the side affects iz lack of motivation

  6. You could have been sad while you had bud, but never noticed due to the fact that you had something to cheer you up. Sometimes i feel the same way, you may want to look into Seasonal Affective Disorder.

  7. I don't know if weed is what does it for you but I'm depressed a lot with or without weed so I doubt that's the problem. Which sucks because I don't know what the problem is.

  8. I would say that yeah it could be the lack of weed that is causing your depression.

I would also take the advice of the guy who said you should take B vitamins, even if it isn't FDA proven :p

  9. Weed just like any other drug or substance cover's up emotion in my opinion. I recently stopped smoking as much and I was depressed for awhile but after about 4-5 days or not smoking I was the happiest person alive.

while all these suggestions are good, i have another. i'm pretty much same as you, only it happens a lot, like i can only get an 8 at a time, and that only lasts me a week, i end up going for a while without it, and my life being the way it is, you just notice all the shitty things more, and some aspect of normal life become dull. and i was feelin pretty down until my friend suggested we build a tipi for this summer. i enjoy making things, and the outdoors, and smoking, and a tipi is all of those things. so..

in order to balance the amount of sucky things and good things, do somthing fun and long lasting. coming up with ideas is sometimes difficult.

also life tends to be stale in many cases, and bud usually fixes that, but when there is no bud, try to 'spice' up your life haha

  11. idk if i have a really bad day i can feel like shit even if i am blazed lol

  12. Hmmm, is it really a dietary supplement though?

It just seems like an herbal tea of sorts... like, I drink green tea sometimes 'cause "it's good for you" but I dunno, I just went to this site, which by all means may not be legit...

    Goldenseal Tea Benefits

It's just tea, I thiiiiiiink he should be fine... might as well give it a try, OP.

  13. ++1 i like this cause everytime i go out and smoke (dont smoke at home) and get ripped outta my mind i start to get 1)pissed as fuck 2) really depressed and i cant stop thinking like da herb(sounds like a drug addict)

the things i do is make homemade bongs....percs....bublers out of cool looking bottles or even fuckin crazy shit u wuldnt think of

either way.....that helps me and another thing i do is i go for a run and play my metal at a ear blleding level and scream and yell and it takes my anger and depression away:smoking:

  14. its called Withdrawal, and yes you can be in a state of withdrawal from marijuana. It'll pass though.

  15. Man, that's really rough. It's nice knowing all of these people are looking out for you though and giving you their advice. Best of luck man!

  16. I know what you mean man. Had to take a break for a while and I kinda felt down most of the time. But I found a way to counter that depression. You just need to find something fun to do, for me that's sketching, playing guitar, sports and gaming.

I really recommend you to work out or do a challenging sport of some sort (you might already do i dunno), cuz it'S proven that sport makes you happy.

  17. "FDA Approved" - they're not trying to "prove" anything. Just _had_ to correct that.

Goldenseal is a dietary supplement. You can find it at the drugstore with the other dietary supplements. That website is totally not legit (its more an advertisement than anything)... I'm just saying whoever suggested the goldenseal, spoke of it like it was a cure-all - I just wanted to throw a little common sense in here and point out that its not going to work in an instant - if at all. There's a reason all the dietary supplements' benefits - when listed - start with "MAY be beneficial,...etc.. etc.."

But by all means, if you want to drink the tea, drink the tea! I'm just saying, don't expect it to work like you're drinking Robitussin trying to stop a cold - its a supplement, not medicine.

  18. ^this^ You know you're shit! lol, I am quite happy and relieved to say I bought a ten sack last night (which in itself was quite demeaning, seeing as normally I only buy eighths+) (didn't wanna buy much more even though I had a bit more cash, my loyal dealer is out of town and the guy I bought from has had okay shit but also sometimes dry or short) and had a grand old solo smoke and it was nice, I felt a little better, things still aren't great but it definitely helped me get through the night. :smoke:

  19. OP
When I have no job and no cash flow.
I get money some how and start hustlin till I find a job.
It always seems like I go to more parties, drink more and smoke hellla lot more when I don't have a job then when I do.

  20. Ah! Excellent point but you should scrutinize the motivations of the FDA. Their judgement is obviously flawed OFTEN.....when was the last time you saw a 1-800-BAD HERB commercial?
