    That strain first appeared in the 1988 SSSC Catalog. This was the forerunner of today's Sensi Seeds and in fact this strain became their default 'indica' in their breeding programs.

    It is not, however, a Dutch strain - it was developed by growers in Oregon in early 80s who belonged to a group known as Sacred Seeds. In the SSSC's first catalog they gave credit to Sacred Seeds but by the time Operation Green Merchant and other events cause the whole seed business to come crashing down in 1989/1990...

    An interesting history to be sure...

  2. Hey @AgnesDawgz Malibu Compost makes a bagged potting soil. How do you think things will go if I add 1/2 cup kelp, crab meal, and neem cake 4 cups basalt and 1/2 cup gypsum per cu ft? Should I add castings?

  3. Make your own soil from scratch don't start with bagged soil from anyone, even bagged compost is a last resort for most of us. I'm not saying that soil isn't good but if you make your own it'll be better

  5. I'm running two plants using Malibu Compost Baby Boo - a TO and a U-Dub and the results are nothing short of spectacular.

    Here's what I added
    • 1/2 cup kelp
    • 1/2 cup neem
    • 1/2 cup crab meal (don't get hung up on this. Oyster shell powder of limestone, i.e.calcium carbonate is what you need. The chitin in the crab meal is easily replaced by the enzyme chitinase in the malted barley applications...
    • 2 cups basalt rock dust
    That's it. I do top-dress with malted barley powder every week and I water that in with BioAg Ful-Power (pure fulvic acid) @ 1 tablespoon (1/2 oz) per gallon of water. This will take care of any and all trace element issues.

    I water as needed and add 1 gram 200XX Aloe Vera powder each and every time.

    I'm shocked actually...

  12. My SIP containers for my 10 gals are cycling water daily.
    These Roots are bout 2-3 inches long

    Question for the Thread;
    Is is alright to continue and let these roots seek water as long as the water cycles and doesn't become stagnant???

    With a couple of exceptions like neem meal and alfalfa meal, the name on a box or sack of fertilizer means absolutely nothing.

    No one packs their own fertilizers because it's too expensive and imagine what it takes in terms of regulatory and statutory agencies and then the local community to get approval to build a fertilizer factory. So beginning 90 years ago the co-packer was born. Today companies like Miracle Gro, Down-To-Earth, Dr. Earth, Bradford Organics, E.B. Stone, FoxFarms and everyone else outsources this process.

    I was told that DTE had changed suppliers on their neem meal which was actually the meal from Dyna-Gro's operation in China. They licensed DTE to re-badge their meal under the DTE brand. I don't know if that's true or not and in fact, the person who told me that has a track-record of bad information.

    I recommend that you only source the organic meals from Neem Resource. Consider that you only need to use 1/2 per 1 c.f. Look at your price per application perhaps is more accurate than looking at the bag price. Keep in mind that organic neem meals contain 3x the levels of secondary metabolites than conventional versions out of China & Senegal (Africa)

  14. Watch the video sean dawg posted. Thanks @SeanDawg I post that all over the boards.

    Actually it is 60x more absorbable. ...cannabinoids are more easily absorbed in their acid form... psychoactive. ..nope ...but psychoactive isn't always what ya need. Check out anandamide, an endocannabinoid...its in mothers milk...it comes from the endocannabinoid system which is the reason we have receptors for cannabinoids afaik. I saw a seminar with Dr. Robert Melamede. He is the leading specialist on the endocannabinoid system, and he enlightened me to the endo system and citicholine.

    It's no surprise that western medicine doesn't teach anything about the endocannabinoid system. (It would potentially jeopardize all of their pharmaceutical bonuses)

    Honestly it never ceases to amaze me how much the endo cannabinoid system is kept in the dark.. I have family members who are brain specialists and I was the first one to tell them about it..

    Gotta start somewhere.

    @MountainOrganics

    I was watching an episode of 30 Rock and Liz Lemon mentions a porn movie she watched in college of a monkey smelling his anus. Not unlike the private rooms hosted by seed breeders at High Times Cup events for the judges.

    Of course I was immediately reminded of what goes on during a Dragonfly Earth Medicine exam to earn their DEM PURE certification. I assume that a hot session of 'hide-the-banana' ensues with pizza & dabs for all.

    I wonder if they cater these affairs?

  16. Let the roots do their thing. They're fine. There's no way you could stop them if you wanted too. Looks real good man

  17. I forgot to mentione the most important factoid about the Afghani #1 and one of my strains, the Velvet Rush

    The mother was a Highland Thai and the dad was Afghani #1 which came from Oregon and not from SSSC (nee Sensei Seeds). I grew this strains for 3 or 4 years...

  18. So besides the ethical reason of the neem being organic, logically it can cost at least 3x the price when considering secondary metabolites.... with that in mind, at one third of the weight your saving substantially on shipping costs for a superior product. Depending on your location even if its over 3x the price of regular neem your still doing yourself and everyone else a favor.. . . .
