I grew a couple plants in coco, Top dressing w/ organic DR earth. Plants grew ok, decent buds.. Cut, tried to keep them at 60/60 as best i could, fan was pointed at the wall, dark.. it didn't seem difficult to dry. both plants ended at different times so i dried individually, used wood dampness meter to check for 11 % at stem above bud. lots of bud all of the bud are real airy. no dense nuggs at all. tasteless, bit limey. not sure what went wrong?
Could you provide a picture of said not good tasting nugs? I would guess between the seed genetics and light your using, would cause the not great tasting buds.
i used a good led light, auto flowers need 45 dli tops so it was no problem. anything over that and they seemed to burn.
No reason to post the same question in multiple threads, its not like you are going to get different people and different answers. No reason to be a dick either. You will get much more help by not being a dick, and frankly it sounds like you need a lot of help.
The answers provided in the other thread were sufficient. Hay taste has zero to do with genetics and light used. Has everything to do with preserving terpenes in the drying stage. 14 days is a long time for a beginner grower, normally until one dials in their method of drying for the environment they have drys are fairly quick. Do you have hygrometers? Also if the pic provided is how you dried that isn't efficient for a controlled indoor dry, need to hang or atleast spread buds out on something that allows airflow to circulate around entire bud not just the top. Need hygrometers to keep eye on humidity, also good to put them near buds to have a better idea of what that humidity is. After the dry is over for curing hygrometers are used to continually monitor bud humidity. terpenes can also be deteriorated during this process. Heat, high/low humidity, and light all cause deterioration of trichomes, trichomes house everything that makes cannabis enjoyable.
Cant "copy" you can to a certain extent what works for one doesn't work for the masses. I follow build a soil, I know what you're referring to you didn't follow it directly since he hangs his bud in the tents if you dried as pics show. Even so everyone's environment is different unless you live down the road and use every piece of equipment used exactly you have to trial and error until you dial your method in.
Good luck Humidity of the room helps slow the drying process helping to preserve trichomes, its irrelevant to the buds humidity. Could be as easy as doing a dry trim to keep humidity in also helping buds dry slow. Or drying for less time, seems like you're not listening and assuming because you followed build a soil you did everything correctly. We can only help so much, it's on the grower to take information provided and implement it into their grow/ future grows. If you're not willing to learn no sense in coming to a grow forum asking for help.
Good luck? or you going to change your whole post to save face after the fact??? LOL nah keep it comming GroBro
You have weed that smells like hay. You ask for help. Several growers who know what they are doing and who's weed does not smell like hay have tried to help you. Apparently that's not good enough for you. So in that regard, Enjoy your hay.
BroGro, I have to say resorting to Moving Gifs is really helping you " win" here. You are a wizard!! not only at growing but at other things too.
i dry my plants in a cold dark room at 65f AND 65% RH for no more than 5 days then trim them while they are still sort of wet it is a hands on process you have to stay within certain parameters if they get too dry there is no saving them ! was there a strong smell when you first chopped them? next run try different genetics as far as airy buds that is from low light plain and simple IMO
I may be newish but I already noticed there is a rivalry in the growing world/ organic Vs salts. I posted in the Organic section because I Top dressed Organic, and who knows maybe I screwed that up? But what gets me is Organic growers are quick as F to say best taste comes from Organic growing, however I assure anyone reading that the problem here started when i wrote in my other post that i was going to try salts. All of a sudden MFers go on defensive, Those that say organic gives the best taste are now saying Organic has nothing to do with taste and its all about the dry............. I live in a biased world., none of this surprises me. Just to be clear though I have nothing against organic.
