no roots after 11 days(clippings)???

hey i took four clippins off my momma the other day... well 11 days ago actually, i put them in water with rooting hormone powder stuff and they are staying alive, but seem like there just slowly dieing... should they have roots by now or what? is there anything else i can do to help em out??
