No Pest Strips

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by dsomers, Jul 19, 2015.

  1. I have what is now a pretty manageable spider mite problem at the early or mid stage of vegetative growth. I"ve got them pretty well knocked back with azamax and safer soap and am hoping no pest strips can really clear out the rest. My question is, if I need to use these when the tent is not being ventilated, I assume that means when the light is off and it's dark with no air flow. How long do I need to have the no pest strips in there to kill the mites? I'm thinking maybe 8 hours. And is there a point of keeping it dark where I would risk pushing the plants into flower mode? Which of course I don't want to do. Thanks!

  2. You might want to check out the hazards of this product before using. The directions state it is not to be used in indoor in areas that get more than four hours exposure to humans. You should consider using Spinosad on 4-5 day intervals until the mites are controlled for a product that does not create health risks to the user.

  3. Thanks, Pointswest. Yes, I know it's not something you want to be breathing. The mites are actually pretty well under control and my hope was that using the no-pest strips in sealed tents, maybe a few nights a week, just overnight and then putting them in sealed bags, might be a way to zap the last of the mites and really get rid of them all. Does that sound reasonable?
