Patrick O'Callahan writes for the News Tribune about the lack of opposition for I-502

The fundraising tallies put it all into perspective. The main campaign supporting I-502, New Approach Washington, has raised over $3 million for their efforts to date. Meanwhile, the two groups officially opposing the measure have only taken in $17,000 combined. (Via JustSayNow)

The lack of any kind of organized opposition shows in the polling. The two most recent polls show the initiative holding a double-digit lead ahead of the November vote. PPP polled the state in June and found 50% in support and 37% opposed. SurveyUSA polled the state in July and found 55% support with 32% opposing. Both pollsters used the language that will appear on the ballot in their polling.

Both polls were done before I-502 supporters launched their first TV ad campaign in the state last month and even if the opposition is somehow able to scrap together some kind of ad campaign in response, they'll likely be vastly outspent by supporters.
