  1. so heres my predicament. IM down to only 300$ and thought it was about time i get a job. Im takin a break from weed until i get a job, but ive never had one before... so what i need is tips from you guys on how to get a job as fast as possible.

  2. Call back after you drop in an application. Let them know your interested.

  3. Don't phone and ask if there is a job going... go in and make 'contact' showing that your interested.

  4. How to get a job: bongsquad's tutorial
    1. acquire job application
    2. fill out said application
    3. call them
    4. call them more
    5. keep bugging em
    6. acquire job

  5. Be personable.

  6. Dress up like an employee.

Start doing work around at said job.

Tell manager you have been working and haven't got your check yet.

You will either get your check or get a job.

  7. forget what I said, this guy might actually be on to something

  8. Heres an interviewing tip-

Question: Use one word to describe yourself.

    Correct Answer: Approachable.

  9. Just make sure you apply for a real job. Not a fastfood job if you can help it. I wasted years of my life working for minimum wage...

The time making $7/hr should go towards looking for more money. Btw, government, $7 an hour is fucking pitiful. I want reparations.

  10. What types of things should you ask/say when calling?:)

  11. Shit like "hi I'm blahblahblah I turned in an application and wanted to ask if you've had time to review it." Chances are they'll say yes and talk about it or say no and go check it out.

It's better to actually GO IN to the place you plan on following up at instead of just giving them a phone call. They see your face, making it easier to remember you, and it leaves a stronger impression.

  12. just be like "hey, I'm so and so, I submitted my application the other day, and I was wondering what I could do to be a part of your team, etc"

thank them for their time and wish them a good day

  13. What if you did online applications? I went in but the store said they do their hiring online...... I ended up doing all my applications online.

  14. I thought for a second you were going to spend the rest of your $300 on weed.
But apply everywhere, literally.. Everywhere. You've already missed the mark where most stores do their fall hiring, so it's going to be pretty tough especially since the job markets already bad. BUT ANYWAYS, that was just a warning so you don't get your hopes up.

Especially hand out resumes to fast food places, coffee places (like the American equivelant of Tim Hortons, whatever that may be..) And always persue your application whith a phone call. Be persistant, and be as charismatic as you can be. Ask for the assistant manager or store manager when handing in your resume. If possible, get your friends who have jobs to take your resume; you will have a much better chance at getting the job if you know someone.

Put up some flyers around your neighborhood for grass cutting, you can make a good earning there. And when the fall comes, put some flyers up for leaf-raking/maintenance.

    All the best bud!

  15. Lol'd unusually good to this. I can imagine a stoner trying this haha.
