No idea what to name this...

  1. Anyways, I'm taking a Drug & Alcohol test online to get my permit. I assure you I am 18, just had a less than helpful parent and general indifference of getting a license. I haven't been reading the sections, just going to the two questions at the bottom and skimming through the text for the answers. Anyways, here's a part on marijuana:

Usually smoked as a cigarette or joint, or in a pipe or has appeared in "blunts" in recent years. These are cigars that have been emptied of tobacco and re-filled with marijuana, sometimes in combination with another drug, such as crack. Some users also mix marijuana into foods or use it to brew tea.

The main active chemical in marijuana is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). Short-term effects of marijuana use include; problems with memory and learning; distorted perception; difficulty in thinking and problem-solving; loss of coordination; and increased heart rate, anxiety, and panic attacks.
Effects on the Brain. THC changes the way in which sensory information gets into and is acted on by the hippocampus. This is a component of the brain's limbic system that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with emotions and motivations. .
Effects on the Lungs. Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same respiratory problems that tobacco smokers have.

Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers. This may be due to users inhaling more deeply and holding the smoke in the lungs.

There was a chart that listed the physical dependancy as unknown and psycological dependancy as moderate. I have no idea about the tar thing, but at least most of this text seems not completely distorted.

  2. 1).i've never heard of carbon monoxide being in blunts..... and as seeing carbon monoxide is highly poisonous and many people smoke several blunts a day i doubt thats true.....
2). Blunts are swisher papers with cannabis inside not crack... whoever told you that is wrong.
3). There is a lot of tar in blunts, but people tend to smoke less of them than they do cigarettes so it tends to even out... also cigarettes have plenty of chemicals that cause cancer while there has not been a single case of marijuana causing cancer. If you have a problem with tar, use a vaporizer or eat edibles and you wont inhale any.

Basically most of what you said is completely wrong and is based on propaganda.

  3. 1. Carbon Monoxide is any smoke, dude. It's in that joint you're smoking, or the bong you're hitting. :smoke:
    2. Blunts have been used to smoke crack, and I'm sure someone in the history of drug use has mixed weed and crack.

    3. Can't really disagree with that one. XD

Also, don't rag on the OP, he was just stating what the D&A Test had written in it. ;)

  4. 1).didnt intend to rag just wasnt really sure what the OP was asking... it was written by the government and a lot of it is wrong so i view it as propaganda of some sort.
2). didnt realize carbon monoxide was in my j's.... i just heard that if you close the garage door and turn your car on you can die of carbon monoxide poisoning so thats kinda scary........
    3). crack is bad.

  5. Yeah, I was skeptical about the tar thing and the crack mixing thing.

And it's not as horrible propaganda as most things.
It's not like, "WEED KILLS IF YOU TOUCH IT!"

Maybe they are going for subtlety at the DMV, well the website.
