NL x AK47 BB week 1

    here are my bitches after week 1 of veg under 400 watt mh. Are these growin at a good rate or what? How do they look? The other two bigger girls are my NL and Sadhu mothers…… what you guys think?

    looks good start a journal and keep the pictures coming i wanna see what the buds look like :) and you should work on breeding them crossing the nl with the other youd get one crazy strand

    Very very nice clear pictures... love the bubblers :) I'll be starting mine back shortly as well.

    hell yea. whats up dier. nice to see you around again. if you guys wanna see my journal its already goin. you can see my other two girls there too. ill put some new pics up tonight. they shot up this weekend. when should i start fimming?

    anyone used algea control in their buckets? i put in one and noticed some interesting shit. the two with out have nice little root balls forming. the one i put it in has no roots at all!. the plants are growing.... slowly but still growin. one has some thing wrong with it to where the leaves grow all wrinkeled. if the algea shit dont work out ima put some of the sadhu clones in that bucket. should i transplant my two dirt girls yet or no?

    the medium? if thats our question the its grow cubes with a hlf inch layer of clay pebbles along the bottom of the 6" net pots.

    Chronik, you can start fimming right now if you like, i see some nice lil branches already starting, fimming will only help push them out faster, and once they are out fim the branches as well.

    Algae, you should not have algae if the light is not getting to the water and also you have to change your solution every 2 weeks, when you do make sure you scrub out the tub properly (make an extra swappable tub to house the plants while the other is cleaning).

    Yes right about this time your roots should be already out of the net pots and hanging down, your water level should be about 1-2 inches below the net pot now at all times with lots of bubbles under each plant, the roots will start to go crazy and the plant should grow like it was on steroids.

    Keep an eye on the roots, they should be white any signs of discoloration could mean the start of root rott or algae. There are some remedies out there for this but none have worked for me as yet, but then again i caught mine a little to late.

    Things are looking really good for you though, some root shots would be great on a week by week basis or even sooner, there was a huge difference in just 3 days when i did mine.

    In that case chop chop tonight. I fim all branches as they show and tie them down when they get a little height on em. Seems to work good. The two soil bitches are done that way and are starting to even out the branches. I am going to start swapin water out tonight. I have to do 1 a day for three days so the tap water has sat out a day. Should I still be using seedling nute amounts? (1/4 tsp) or should I move up to veg levels. Im not sure. I don’t wanna burnem and they are showing yellow on the inside of the leaves. Ill take some root shots tonight of the 4 that have roots. The two that have no roots also have an algae preventative in it bucket so that could be keeping them from growing. So I will change their water first. Should I not worry about the algae? Its brown algae and its only on the air stones…… how big you think the two soil bitches will be when i start flowering the ponics? also i plan on getting a light mover but im not sure if i shuld get a 4 footer or a 6 footer since i might be makin a new box and sellin this one....

    I used zero nutes when starting and only added 1/2 nute strength for the week 1 schedule after i dropped the water level (when the roots came out of the net pot)

    On week 2 i used Week One full nute and counted from there... In other words i gave 1/2 nute strength for the first week and then started on the schedule 1 week after the roots came out.

    But if you've already started with nutes they should be used to it and you can go ahead and drop your level and recalculate for full nute strength for Week 1...

    What nutes are you using? Do you have a TDS/EC meter?

    Ok just re-read your post you say some yellowing on the sides, drop the water level and do same nutrient feed.

    again, what nutes are u using, sounds like water soluable nutes.

    The ponix will outgrow the soil bitches in no time.

    The brown algae you are talking about sounds like just nutrients building up on the stone, if you had algae forming it would have started on the sides of the container at water level and the bottom of the container would also feel slimy/slippery. Yes algae stunts growth big time. but it could also be your water level too
    high or too low, the water level on those not showing roots out the net pot should be about 1/2 inch to an inch above the bottom of the net pot....

    I would dump the nutes on the stunted ones and go with regular unnuted water until they show some roots, solution might be too strong for them at this point.

    is the nutes your using brown in color and kind of thick liquid??? that shits nasty.

    a friend of mine gave them to me. they came with his hydrofarm 1 plant drip system. the water level sits at the base of the pots now and i have 1 20-60 gal pump for each ten gal bucket. that sound ok? what does lowering the fluid level do. give the plant more oxygen? so after this week (week 2) should i start using. 1 tsp per gal?

    edit: all i got it a ph tester...... the testube kind. cant afford a meter yet.

    i have 3 containers of nutes. green for veg orange for flower and dark red for micro nutes.

    Ok nutes are good :)

    NOw you talk about pump and drip system.... to me that shit sucks ass.

    Your airstones are sufficient, especially fo rthe ones with roots already out.

    What the water level does.

    1. Makes the roots want to grow down towards the water.
    2. Gives extra oxygen to the upper parts of the roots while the roots in the solution takes up nutrients (The bursting bubbles from the airstone is what keeps the ones out of the water moist)

    I would if i were you.

    1. Start week 1 nutrients at 1/2 strenght on the plants with roots emerging and drop the water level to 1 inch below the net pot and do away with the drip (depending on the roots length they may be suspsended in air, this is fine the bubbles bursting will wet them and tease them to grow bushier and faster, once they touch the solution drop another 1 inch for 2 inches total below net pot, you stay at this level from then on (rememeber to recalculate amount of water so your solution is correct when mixing it)

    2. For the plants not! with roots emerging yet... drain the solution and put in ph balanced water at 5.5ph up to a level of 1 inch above bottom of net pot and do away with the drip and only use the airstone.

    I would also check the grow rocks / cubes in the net pot for algae on those that are stunted at the moment.

    k. thanks for the input...... finally someone who know what the fuck they are talking about. i don’t have a drip I got the nutes from my boy who just spent $80 for a 2 plant drip. Mine was $50 and it holds 6. i will lower the levels on the 2 buckets with roots and fix up the other bucket without as well. wile im in there ill take some root shots. they are at least 1 and a half the height of the plant. so they are growin quick. they are also sittin a foot under a 400 watt hps. the two big ones in the front are NL the other 4 are AK47. the bitch in the smaller dirt pot is either NL or AK and the bigger one is Sadhu from my last grow attempt. Will probably get some clones a month after I start flowering so I can have some mothers for my next grow after I move in December……. Unless I can pull off two but I doubt it......thanks for the help. its about time some one who knows their shit shows back up.

    i checked the calander. the plants are 12 days old...... their size is good for almost 2 weeks right? or no?

    they are fine, once the roots start you will see how much faster it grows, as soon as you drop that level you will see them take off.
