has anyone ever heard of using nitrous cartridges in the soil for seedlings to get them to grow bigger faster? someone told me you need to do this to get them going or they won't grow very big-- wtf???

You should put the nitrous cartridges in a nitrous cracker and keep them out of your soil. Nitrogen, and phosphorus are nutrients in soil but putting a steel cartridge in your soil won't do anything.
