Nitrogen Toxicity?Deficiency? 1st time grow

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by HappyStoney, May 27, 2018.

  1. Hey guys not an expert on the topic, but i recently transplanted my plants to their final fabric air pots. I started to notice that the tip of leaf was getting like"the claw" could this be a nitrogen toxicity if so what do i need to do? Looks like its bearly showing signs. Any type of feedback is much appappreciated.(btw when i took the photos plant was waking up)

So far i havent seen bugs but i think my tap water i was using had too much clorine its like if the plant eats itself. But just to keep it in the safe side i did spray some neem oil on them.

    3x3x7 Tent
600w Viparspectra(Both Veg and Bloom switch on)
    Organic potting soil/ 20%perlite
24inches from tips of the plant
Humidity 40-70 Rh mainly around 55-60
Temp around 77°-81 during the day
    Temp around 70°-74 at night
Ph water 6.0 - 6.5 (cut down on nutes due to some nute burn prob)

  2. Do you feed nutes with every water, back off the N give her just water every couple times, 20% run off is good.
    Keep growing looks good

  3. Leaves look fine to me

My understanding is N deficient you will start to see lower leaves yellowing - toxicity would be dark green leaves. And sometimes all of the serrated tips get burnt.

  4. too much (N) what nutrients are you using ? so you know if you were feeding them the proper amount you can feed every time you water it will NOT over feed them. people i help in private they and i all feed every water there plants are very healthy. monster harvests. just want to put that out there. your not feeding to often. your using to much nutrient or the nutrient numbers are off. not suggested for you plants.

  5. First, have you tested the runoff? Test what comes out and compare that to what went in. It should be the same. If not adjust your ph and ppm, more to raise nutes, ph and less to siphon off nutes, lower ph. Check the temp of the water you're using, it shouldn't be too cold. Nothing below sixty degrees or over sixty-eight. It messes with the plants metabolism and stops growth, gives inaccurate ph, ppm, DO levels and root rot. Your ph seems low. 6.8 is the prime number you want in that medium. The plant looks like it's having only minor reactions to a lockout. The low ph is the issue. You don't say what E.C. you're at but if the leaves are kinda blue-green or very dark green "Flush" with a lower E.C., TDS, PPM, whatever, and set the ph at seven. That medium will lower the ph of the water you add if you didn't add dolomite lime in the beginning. Beneficial bacteria like mycorrhiza and the Subtilus species will help with absorption and ph stability, plus fight off fungus attacks.

  6. Yeah thats why has me a bit thrown of besides the tips of the plants i see no yellowing

  7. The 1st grow is the hardest as you’re questioning everything. Don’t worry we’ve all been there

  8. Im using the foxfarm trio. Mixed cal mag, bigbloom, grow big at 1/4 than the rec dosage to see how plants take it then i was planning to bump it up at 1/2dosage.

  9. Run off water was at 6.0 ph
Usally the temp is 68°-71° when i feed
    I usally water-water-feed nutes
When i do water i wait 2-3days till i water again

  10. I usally water-water-nutes
I wait aboua 2-3days before i water again
My nutes consists of calmag, BigBloom, growbig from fox farms. I started at 1/4 than the rec dosage then was going bump it up 1/22dosage

  11. Agreed this looks more like a lil nute burn than a deficiency, those leaves are really dark, you could back off the nutes a lil bit

What is the ppm? Tap water? Watering twice then feeding is a low-risk, low reward option. You are flushing your plant. Then your probably overfeeding Nitrogen. Try using a little less. Feed every watering and then flush once a month or when it shows signs of extreme overfertilization/lockout. Running the feed water until at least thirty percent of the volume comes out the bottom will flush the medium. What you feed is dependent on the strain. Some don't like N or a lot of anything. Some will take huge amounts and want more. Your range is from 0.7 to 1.6 on the E.C. scale and 400 to 1600 on ppm. If you feed 400 ppm and it's at 6.8, while you're wastewater comes out 600 and 4.0, you feed it lower ppm and higher ph. 1/4 and 1/2 strength can be too strong. But you have the right idea and she looks fine.
