Nirvana - Ice

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Prophis, Jan 28, 2010.

  1. This year is going to be my first outdoor grow:)
I do a lot of research on strains, and for a lot of reasons Ice by Nirvana is really sounding appealing to me.

I Live in the North East [US] and was wondering if you think this plant would do well outside around here?

Seedbank Nirvana Type Indoor Indica / Sativa Hybrid Feminized No Yield 400 - 500 Effect Stoney and high Grow height Medium Flowering weeks 9 / 11 weeks
Even though it says the type is "indoor", i know that this often doesn't exclude growing outside. It's just said because not all outside strains work good indoors, i believe..some confirmation would be nice though.

    Anyways, i appreciate any advice

    Peace

  2. not sure how it grows but i picked up an 8th from the dispencery this weekend while looking for a new flavor to grow and it taste super good, was also thinking about getting some seeds of it also

  3. Lol, might it be that beautifull picture thats so appealing.

  4. my friends cousin gets ice in pa and that shit is super potent. ill try and find out if he grows it there cuz i know he grows some stuff

  5. I grew one Ice plant outside year before last but never got to sample it...turned out to be Male.

It did pollinate all of my other plants so while I never tasted straight up Ice, it DID make a good daddy. I'm loving my Blueberry/Ice cross (BlueIce)

So males grow well outdoors, even in hot n humid s. florida

  6. Cool man, thanks for sharing. That sounds super yummy

  7. Yeah man please do. I can't wait to try some myself.

I honestly dont think it will do well outside. Well I should say I think the plant could do well but it would take A LOT of attention which is hard to do outside. I have 4 going right now and they dont show they would do well outside.
First: The plant takes way to long to get done. Living where you are odds are the frost would set in before peak harvest.
Second: The plant is VERY VERY dependent on a proper feeding schedule. Feed them just a little to less and they turn yellow VERY fast. Feed them just a little to much and they burn VERY easy.
Third: The plant grows very sativa(almost 100%) and has very nice heavy buds but the branches are very slinder and weak. If you can't get out there and stake them up the buds will break the branches.

These pics are at 8-9 weeks of flowering, they are at 10 weeks now with about 3 weeks to go.

  9. Wow those do look amazing.

Thanks for the advice though man. that's really good for me to know. I wish the seedbanks themselves would provide info like that.

I do have indoor setups as well, so Ice may be something i'll have to consider for that.

Outside I'm looking at growing "the church" by greenhouse, and "white widow" by seedsman this year. proably 10 & 20

I've been luckier with research as far as these two go :]
