It's been pretty cool and damp in the Willamette valley lately and last night it dropped to 39. Today I'm noticing purple on the upper stems and some purple on the new leaves. It's actually kind of cool looking and since I'm growing an Indica dominant strain, it should be fine (I hope!).
I had lots of my plants go purple from this. Some plants can take it and some cant. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I've seen this strain (Ice) develop lots of purple leaves and flowers, particularly last spring when I was finishing off a group with lots of time spent outside. In at 8 pm, out at 8 am. OTOH I've had summer grows where they were all green, no purple at all.
I grew 3 ice last time and one of them wend hard core purple. She was closest to the intake and she got a bit cold. I believe that's what turned her purple. She was the most covered with trichs and dense but the smoke was harsh albeit very brain wrecking. Sent from my SM-G900V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Cannabis plants will turn purple when exposed to cold temps. It's very common to happen some plants and not others.
