If you want people to watch clips tell us about them, don't just dump them in a post with no context.
Beating a dead horse. So many more important issues out there. Why are people still talking about this crap?
Maybe because it's relevant to people who want to be able to marry and get all the rights that everyone else can, like seeing their loved one in the hospital, etc? How about you stfu? This is a VERY important issue to millions of Americans, so who the fuck are you to tell them to get over it? Maybe if they will, they never will get equality, did that ever occur to you?
What are you talking about? You are like, one of the cattiest people on this forum. You get bitchy and call people uneducated ALL THE TIME. And he just said that people shouldn't care about stuff like this, which is deeply offensive and also wrong. I'll say whatever I please, thanks.
Yes they should get over it. Not every straight person cares. Gays should go back in the closet a little bit. We don't need a big gay parade or someone harassing you outside of a grocery store to sign some shit for gay marriage. We do not need to teach about gays to young children in schools. We do not need a bunch of queers and dykes running wild thinking we fvkin give a crap. I can never take you guys seriously because you care so much and make it a point to vote on such a minuscule issue. Same with abortion and other "moral" issues. At the end of the day when the economy is imploding and we have Wiemar Germany style inflation you will wish you didn't waste so much time worrying about useless issues.
lot of MAJOR issues out there that need to be concentrated on.. gay marriage vs hmm.. economy, education, unemployment, etctec.. hmmm what do the MAJORITY care about..
Please do the rest of us a favor and promptly liquefy your testicles in a blender. "Queers" and "Dykes" are human beings that are systematically denied rights in this country; the systematic discrimination of any group should not occur in the United States. We're supposed to be better than that. Also, did anyone say the economy isn't deserving of attention? Nope. But hearing an elected official speak of homosexuals like they're some kind of mutants disgusts me. "Gays should go back in the closet a bit"... Do you have no empathy for your fellow man, whatsoever? What if the shoe was on the other foot? You're in love with a person, and you'd do anything for them, but you can't even see them in the hospital because somehow your love isn't the 'right' kind... Grow up.
immature. you wouldn't happen to have blonde hair and blue eyes would you? man after hearing 'queers' and 'dykes' from you. i would hate to start a thread about affirmative action.
For someone who raves like a lunatic about the virtues of individualism and the evils of collectivism you certainly seem to have no qualms in disregarding some of the most fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual - these 'useless issues' are a struggle for basic freedom, freedom not to have the government telling people whom they can and cannot marry, freedom to whatever the fuck you want with your body etc. You're also quick to say 'We do not need a bunch of queers and dykes running wild thinking we fvkin give a crap.' - not 'I do not', but a very definitive 'we'. Your sig proclaims collectivism causing nothing but 'misery to all who it is forced upon' - yet are you not trying to justify the collective ('we do not need' etc) forcing misery and persecution upon gay people? The economy is obviously important, but that doesn't make everything else secondary - ESPECIALLY not issues as important to basic liberty as gay marriage, abortion rights, euthanasia rights, drug legalisation etc.
Yeah, see, this is why I have a hard time trusting conservatives/right-wingers/whatever. Cause I pretty much have found that if they don't say they hate you to your face, it's going through their head. Thanks, though, for confirming my suspicion that you people are nothing more than a bunch of bigoted tools !
Thanks for the bigotry and hypocrisy. I lol'd. You generalize about an entire group of people (righties) and say that they consciously hate you and are "nothing more than a bunch of bigoted tools". Classy.
You make a fine point. Still... Let's be honest. If a person doesn't support the right for gays to marry then, regardless of political affinity, deep down, despite what they may profess, they do not see homosexuals as their equals. They answer the question "Why is it okay not to extend these rights to gays" by "It's not natural/it's immoral/God says so/it's not 'real' love" etc. These responses just translate to "I'm better than you", straight up. Gays can't control their urges for members of the same sex any more than heterosexuals can control their desires for the opposite sex. It's just ingrained in their being.
Ok, for some of us, these rights that people want aren't really rights. They're simply privileges afforded to some. Some of us want those privileges taken away and think the gov. should only protect negative rights. Of course, seeing their loved one in the hospital is common sense. Everyone should be allowed to do that. Believe me, I was brought up as a Unitarian Universalist and have been around LGBT (lesbian/gay/bi/transgender) people all my life. I know that they don't choose their urges/desires, just like I don't choose my own. Lastly, the reason I blew up on postmodern is because his generalizations aren't necessary in an argument for equal rights. Let's stick to sound arguments and stop just attacking the arguer(s).
I failed to mention this stance, but I'm aware of it. I have no problem with this as it's a different line of thought entirely. Those in support of heterosexual marriage, then, should be supportive of homosexual marriage; they're bigots otherwise.
