NFTG in coco - every deficiency in the book

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by dukedogg76, Jun 7, 2015.

  1. What type of medium; soil or hydro?

    Hand watering to waste

What brand and type of soil?

    Canna Coco coir

    Indoors or outdoors?

    Indoors

    What strain?

    Bag seed

    How old are the plants?

3 months from seed; day 37 of flower

What type of lights and how many watts?

    Solistex 600w HPS

    How far from the lights?

    18-20 inches from the scrog

What is your watering frequency and source of water?

RO water (well source starts at 700 ppm; filtered down to 25 ppm). Every 3-4 days depending on how fast the pots dry out.

What, how much and when was it fed? NPK?

Nectar for the Gods. Proline. Followed ratios in feed chart (easily googled, and I don't know how to imbed links). Started at about 30% of "full strength" and worked way up to about 75% by week 2 of flower. The feeding chart does call for a huge jump in Herculean Harvest (0-10-0) which I admittedly did not use as much as the feed chart calls for.

What is the medium/runoff pH and PPM if in hydro?

    6.4
    500 PPM

What are the temps and humidity in the room?

    70-72 daytime; 60-64 night time

    What size pots?

    5 gallon nursery pots

    Any bugs? Look real close.

Had a couple white flies about a month ago. 3 neem oil foliar sprays at lights out every three days for a total of 3 sprays. No bugs since.

    Any other pertinent info?

The plants were vigorous, almost emerald green, and healthy as hell all throughout veg.

The feed chart calls for an increase in pH as you enter flower (which I followed, up to about 6.4) and I think that might be the problem, since I'm in Coco.

When I started noticing problems, I flushed with Herculean Harvest at 6.4 and then a few days later hit them with a full strength dose of the "mid-flower" schedule (1000 ppm; which is more than they ever had before). That was a couple days ago.

It seems like I have every deficiency in the book. If pH is the issue, where should I reset the pH to, and how many gallons of that pH water do you think I'll need to run through a 5 gallon pot that is sitting at 6.4? I plan to just periodically check the run off during the flush.

If you can identify specific nutrient differences (or disease) please shout them out and tell me what you are seeing in the picture that helped you identify it.

    Thank you!
