Newbie or Not?

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by CVO, Nov 15, 2012.

  1. Just out of curiosity, how long do you have to smoke weed, or embrace the stoner lifestyle to not be considered a newbie, or become a seasoned toker?

I've been blowing trees for about 2.5 years now, and I definitely don't consider myself a newbie, but I wanted your guys's input. Thanks.

    Sincerely,
    CVO

  2. I just recently came back to the forums after a lil break trying to keep the stoner lifestyle at a distance because of probation and testing. But I know there are dudes on this forum who have been toking for decades, and obviously out in the community plenty of guys in their 30s 40s even older been getting high since they were 12.

I know for me I started toking when I was 14, so its coming on 5 and a half years of smoking and being part of this culture. Damn feel like its only been couple years

but for your question, shit its up for interpretation. seasoned implies you've been smoking for a good couple seasons, for some of us younger guys thats a couple years, older dudes maybe tarts a decade.

In my opinion if you love the herb, you smoke that shit and keep it real, your a true stoner, like myself who can;t smoke but I still consider my self a stoner.

    Thats my two cents

  3. Doesn't matter to me if someone is a newbie, and coughs when they smoke, or whether they can take a whole J in one puff.

If you enjoy weed, you enjoy weed.

  4. Thanks man. Kinda ironic, I'm on probation and from Michigan too. I've got about a month left until I can burn trees again. But yeah, thanks for the reply.

  5. Ahmen bro.

I think it depends on how many times as well. If you're a once a week toker for a year you may still be a newbie. May not be. It depends also how fast different people catch on too. I catch on fast personally but also been smoking for the last few years.
I some regularly now but when it comes to coughing, anyone probably can.
    Especially of one percs!

  6. If you can handle your shit when you're high, manage a good lifestyle while still smoking, enjoy the herb without letting it control you, and afford it, then you are a "seasoned" toker in my book. I don't think it matters if you cough after smoking, you haven't hit xyz, smoked for this long.. as long as you can handle yourself, make a deal without needing someone to hold your hand, I'm happy.

  7. I don't think coughing makes you a newbie.
If you know proper etiquette and can chill when high, then you're not a newbie.

Cracks me up when a newb hasn't used a bong before and takes a giant hit.

  8. I think the definition of a seasoned toker, especially on this forum, is someone that has knowledge to pass on to those less experienced. For example, I've only been smoking occasionally for four years, but daily for only the last five months. I sort of immersed myself in the culture and did a lot of research. I've spent a lot of time with my herb and I've learned a lot more than I thought there was to know. I consider myself "seasoned" because I have a vast amount of knowledge and, for me, what feels like a lot of experience. But most importantly, I feel like what I know can help people who either haven't smoked before, or are just starting. That's what makes you "seasoned".:smoking:
