Newbie needs help with Lowryder

  1. :wave:I'm no stranger to smoking but I've never tried to grow before, I got given some lowryder seeds and apparently it's easier than a lot of other strains to start off on as it's auto flowering, but I didn't ask the guy how to grow it!

When I've tried growing in the past my plants sprout and get to about 3 inches tall and then die looking like a tall spiky cress sprout, so I know I do something wrong, but that's been with trickier breeds so I'm hoping that lowryder will be easier for me.

Have any members tried to grow lowryder and do they have any tips on how to keep it going? And can anyone recommend a UK brand of fertiliser I can use for this breed as it doesn't have a vegitative stage?

A lot of the tips here are great but they allow for plants which have a normal cycle from what I understand, thanks in advance if anyone can give me any grower's tips!

  3. Straight away I'm asking myself if you are using the correct lights for your plants or if its close enough to them

We'll start with what lights are you using and how close do you put them?

  4. also where you have them is important maybe if its too hot or too cold.

  5. Alakhem shalom! I got the seeds in return for dreadlocking this guys hair for him so not completly free, but quite handy if I can get this right!

I think from what you've said, the amatuerishness of my kit could be to blame for my past failiures, I used a window sill to sprout them and then full on energy saving bulbs, which at the time were about 12 inches away, but no heating as no-one's mentioned that before- I'm going at it blind as the books baffled me with science. From what i've seen Lowryder is dummy proof and you could grow it in your glass house outside if you're brave enough, but that sounds a little too good to be true, especially being in the UK where the weather is a bit unpredictable!

  6. well as im a beginner at it im probally not the best person to be giving advice but those energy saving bulbs i found are useless a friend bought a pack of lowryder 1s and tryed to do the same i think it is because the bulbs you are using are not putting out the correct amount of lumens a 40w bulb like that only outputs around 400 lumens and that is not enough but i have read many times before that lowryders can survive and flower in very low light levels so it might be other factors in your grow room or methods,
more detailed info on your groow room and methods would help in identifing your problem

  7. nice, i just planted 2 lowryder seeds. ordered a pack from drchronic. 1 seed was crushed when i opened it. and the others looked pretty bad. first 2 popped within 24 hours. i hope the rest arent duds.
