This is also something that has me puzzled when i got my solo lol, but the way ive been doing it since day one is just getting a paperclip, extending it out and pushing on the screen from the backside. It is kind of difficult on the bent stem since I have to manage to get it through the holes of the crappy built in screen while accounting for the angle of the tube. It is not hard though grab a paperclip, give yourself 5 minutes and that puppy will be off.
