Newbie Grower Looking for tips

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Maksterx, Jul 30, 2018.

  1. Hello all, My name is Miguel. I started my plants on July 5th, and this is how they look so far. They were first planted in Top soil, then transplanted into larger pots with sheep manure. I've also been giving them regular water from the tap for the first part of their lives. I recently started using some of the water from our dehumidifier and from our AC as well, just because its distilled water. I'm looking for any and all advice, I've done lots and lots of reading, and I know I'm on the right track so far. However, I'm looking for tips on pruning and, if you don't do it why not, and if you do, why? I would really enjoy any advice given. Thank you very much, here are a few pics of my plants so far.

  2. I've been removing interior leaves from time to time. my reason for this is if the leaves are shaded they really aren't giving the plant 100% so I feel the plant is wasting energy on them rather than directing it to places it would be more beneficial. I've noticed very rapid plant fill out and growth. it also provides better air flow through the center of the plant.

  3. That soil is crap. Get some good soil and add 30% perlite.

  4. I don't defoil/prune cause Robert Clarke says its a bad thing ....you decide

see the light green leaves ...thats sus

add 25% perlite as these roots need to breathe

read everything including Clarke ..Cervantas and GC

    cheers/

  5. Shaded leaves provide energy and take in light as well. Taking one leaf away just takes away from its available uptake of energy and food. LST methods are usually better to employ to separate branches and provide more available direct light.

I recommend making your own soil or medium. You never have to add anything other than normal water and it gives your plant complete nutrients 24/7. It's also much cheaper than bottled nutes. If you'd like a recipe to look at, I have one on my current grow journal as well as one for 7 gallon pots with grows in each to show results.
