Good morning Fellow patients... I am currently growing a Chocolope plant and would like to share some pics and my grow...I am a novice but am pretty good at retaining information so any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated... Grow Room - Closet Meduim - Potting soil Lighting - (6) 40 Watt Warm 3400 lumens flourescent tubes - 4 on top and 2 on the side. (Plant is tall so I added the side light to illuminate the lower branches. Nutrients - Flora Nova 4-6-7 ( I believe) Plant is currently 58" tall and has been flowering for 2 1/2 weeks. The plant was given to me at 48" pre-flower from a fellow grower. Here are some pics...ENJOY!!!! I would love some feedback...and will be sharing a few pics of some lower leaves that have discolorations.
You should tie that baby down, definitely before you start the flower process. Im sure she would like that a lot, she looks stretched. What kind of soil mixture you got there blade? Id stay away from the chemical fertilizers and stick to organics, maybe re pot just to get some good soil in there. Id get a rectangular pot, along with the LST you should also try gently folding over that top stem tp be level with that second level or cut it off completely she will like that too.
Thanks Right Arm... It has been flowring for about 3 weeks and has small buds already...Is it still okay to tie it down? Any tie down tips would be welcomed and appreciated... Medium is Potting soil and seems to be working great...I will step it up next grow. PH is 6.5ish and plant is very healthy... Thanks again...
if i were you id add way more cfl's because your plants so tall the cfls you have wont have enough juice to grow some dense buds.you wanna keep the plants shorter when using the cfl's try topping the next one
Thanks Dude...Would anyone suggest tying down the top at this point? It's been flowering about 3 weeks and small flowers/buds are appearing on teh Cola and all of the braches. I also have 1 of the 2 tube 40 watt 3400 lumens tubes vertically mounted and I rotate the plant every 24 hrs...I just started this part of the regime due to the hight of the plant. I have a total of 6 tubes at 3400 lumens each using the warm veriety tubes. Plant is 58" tall from the bottom of the pot. Would also like to know when the plant would typically stop growing up and focus on growing the buds? Should I switch to a fertilizer that has 0 Nitrogen? I do have a mentor but would love any tips or suggestions you can provide. Thanks...
Thanks...Okay that is a new term to me...Can you please elaborate on Scrogging, I understand bending her all of the way over...? Also seeing some posts that since this is prodominantely a Sativa 95% Indica 5% strain that my plant may grow alot more during flowering? I started flowering Jan 5th and it has already grown about 8-10"...Thanks for your input Mrs. Ed. Counting the minutes to 4:20...
ScrOG is screen of green... by installing a screen above the plant and weaving/tucking the plant into the screen it allows for horizontal growth and maximum light on all of the nodes in a rather uniform manner rather than just the top of the plant. That way you dont get a plant as tall as your ceiling and the yield is drastically improved. I use the mesh wire fencing that you can get at home depot or lowes for about $35 for a roll of 5ftx50ft. the spacing is perfect and its sturdy enough to hold anything you need it to. Good Luck!
Pretty much the above explains it. Take a look at the following for further info: Show your SCroG Scrog Method Of course can't mention scrog without include Yoda. The before is similiar to yours and then the after is what it could be. Before - After (I know not the same strain however you get the idea)
Good Morning, Thanks for the great replies...very much appreciated. I will try Scroggin on my next grow after I get a better understanding of the process...seems pretty straight forward though. This is my 2nd grow, 1st was a small Silver Haze plant that I grow from a seed and veged her outdoors and flowered her indoors...Small plant only yeilded about a 1/4 ounce but she was beautiful and tasty. I look foward to helping and learning from this community...Thanks for welcoming me and look for updates on the Chocolope grow...
Very nice plant man..she seems to like what your doing for her ,you gunna be getting a HPS light anytime soon? so you can get a monstrous yeild
Thanks...I was considering it but since I am in the closet I am going to leave it the way it is and try the HPS next grow...Kept a few clones from the plant in the pic. Tell me how you liked your Chocolope harvest, tasty? How long did you flower until harvest? I am assuming I would add about 2 weeks to whatever you used but will be watching the Trichromes carefully...I will add some updated pics on Thursday...Stay tuned and I appreciate all and any feedback. Ohhh and how did your Chocolope yeild? I am at 58" and holding...now thats from the bottom of the pot not the top of the soil. Thanks
FYI - For anyone interested I have another grow Journal on this grow that I will be updating on Thursday...I guess this post that I put on the Introduce yourself board got transferred over after I entered my Journal...Anyway...Thanks
