sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but i wasn't sure.. if you have a seedling that is germinated and placed into soil, do you put it under the light right away and how long should the time schedule be ?

With the questions you are asking, that thread will be very informative and save you quite a bit of time posting questions and researching information. It's like a jump start for growing information.
Start with 24/0 time and you can then after about a week keep 24/0 or use 18/6 and save some electricity.
