New to Medical Marijuana

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by HippyGirl, Feb 25, 2023.

  1. I recently began experimenting with edibles for the first time. I’m not fond of the result and I’m not sure if a different strain or type would help.

I don’t want to feel loopy, or high (which to me feels low)/or dumb.

Does all cannabis THC make you feel that way depending on the amount taken?

My main ailments are depression/low moods and anxiety which is just really bad butterflies in my stomach.

Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? I’m afraid this product may not be for me.

    Thanks for your time!

I have tried the following. X-Bites, squeezed, peaches and cream select gummies and some other gummy. I take max 5mg each time.

  2. I personally do not like edibles. I really wanted to. But It is a totally different feeling than smoking, or vaping.
I have tried all forms from home made cookies, and brownies, to store bought gummies and drinks, even under the tounge drops. I eventually gave up as it was not enjoyable for me. Now I prefer to use vape carts due to the convenience and potency. also inhaling, as you know, the effects are immediate. so dosage is easy. Hope this helps.

  3. Try higher cbd lower thc strains. Or just cbd. All products containing thc will make you feel high. Cbd doesn't give a (high) psychedelic feeling.

Here are some CBD and CBG cultivars
Space candy, pine walker and white cbg are some examples of low thc flower
Another cultivar called thunder struck has 10%THC/15%CBD and is great for relaxing and sleep

  7. What I have been reading ,, Magic mushrooms work the best for depression.
5mg thc eatables is a very low dose or nothing for me

  8. Welcome. Any particular reason for weed, or is it just recreational. Start with a joint imo & stop when your "results" have been reached.

  9. Thank you

  10. I have had depression and anxiety for half my life. Nothing makes me feel better. It was a last resort.

  11. Ok so it sounds like any THC is going to make me loopy. There is no adderall version of weed I’m assuming.

So the CBD and CBG might by my only hope?

I also don’t like the 2 hour delay.

  13. I've found micro dosing shrooms does help with depression .
Personally , if I have booze or weed it with the shrooms it's too much . My son brought back shroom gummies from vegas, I took too much and got dizzy, microdose.:)

  14. I was prescribed adderal (SPEED) for my adhd. it is a class 2 narcotic. I been out of the "loop" for a while now but GIVING AN UPPER FOR ANXIETY/DEPRESSION??? maybe thats why its called PRACTICING medicine. it did squat for me & I couldn't get off it fast enough. good luck.

  15. There are a number of compounds that can interact with your system
So you may have to experiment a little with different cultivars to find one that you like for the effects
The CBD and CBG cultivars come with minor side effects like sedation
Again this depends on how your body reacts to the compounds
The thunder struck which has higher THC than the other "alternative" cultivars helps with sleep
Seems the THC working in tandem with the CBD provided a better period of sleep than the cultivars with high % CBD and less than 1% thc

There is an argument about sativa and indica
New claims are that cannabis has become an overly hybrid crop that has lost the characteristics of an indica or sativa
People would avoid one or the other for various reasons but now that has become more difficult

The onset times cannot be avoided
You can choose an oil or sugar carrier
    My personal experience
Oil has more medicinal benefit and lasts longer
Sugar has a quicker onset but lasts about half the time with a more energetic high

Infused blueberry compote made with infused simple syrup
Infused chocolates (thunder struck) made with infused coconut oil
    Tincture reduction for infusion

  17. We are JUST scratching the surface of what this plant can do
Its more than hope, its actually here and making a difference
But we have company in the form of corporations and that is a very bad thing
Anytime a corporation gets involved things become corrupted and poisonous, literally

  19. Thank you to everyone for your replies. I do have a couple clarifications.

    1) Is there a THC compound that doesn’t make you feel loopy? But more focused and Want to talk and interact with people?

    2) so far nothing had helped my sadness and I have butterflies constantly.

    3) I don’t want to vape or smoke

    4) it’s hard to describe what I want because it doesn’t exist. A cocaine like substance that won’t kill your body that you can get a medical prescription for that’s already legal like a strand of cannabis.

    5) if there is no change in mood from CBD or CBG how does it help you mentally?

  20. CBD & CBG have anti inflammatory properties that can ease swelling and pain from swelling
Folks report calming effect and some relief from pain
This can have a positive impact on a person's mood

A cultivar like thunder struck at 10%thc/15%cbd may give you a little relief
No cultivar is going to cure you
