new to coco

  1. I have good amount of growing experience, however i'm new to this growing medium. I was wondering if the fox farm line would provide the necessary micronutes. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

  2. feed it like hydro, water like dirt. Not sure about FF brand. What I can tell you is that you'll need to up the cal-mag dose since coco absorbs calcium. I use 150% of the recommended dose and it keeps the purple out of my stems.

  3. so adding a larger dose of cal/mag would definitely be the way to go. I am very excited to see how it turns out. I never liked how soil slows root growth, but i am too lazy to run hydro, seems perfect for me.

  4. i use FF trio and it works great in coco

  5. I use Botanicare Pure Blend Pro-Grow, Pure Blend Pro-Bloom, Sweet Raw, Cal-Mag and Canna PK 13/14. Full strength on the grow and bloom, a little over full on the cal-mag, 75% on the sweet and 1-6ml/gal of PK from weeks 3-6. Last 2 weeks are done with 25% and 0% nutes respectively. I get really easy results and it seems hard to hurt my plants with that mix. They grow really aggressively as long as you don't water more than every few days.

  6. I am going to be feeding a weakened formula every watering instead of a stronger solution every other watering. I figure if i let it run off it will be like a mini flush every watering.

  7. Feed every watering. I do. If I don't I see IMMEDIATE degradation in the plants. they'll start yellowing and getting all nasty and growing slow. Water to waste every time.

  8. coco is sooo forgiving you should be fine with the FF, the first time i tried it next to my regular potting soil and did some different mixes, some straight coco some with perelite some with clay balls, watered all of that run with standard FF nutes no cal mag, all did good but the straight coco was bigger and yield was up. now i use House & Garden nutes, well water no cal mag run to waste drip feed one time daily with approx 10% run off, i like plain bagged coco, open bag fill pot plant...coco is great and if you dial it in you won't go back..:smoke:
