New seeds

Some old beans ya got there. Ive also banked up a ton of seeds that i will be growing out over the next.... well...... the rest of my life.

 

Using a 1 % solution of hydrogen peroxide may help with germination rates, according to this study.

Seems overkill.

 

It's not overkill if your seeds are 13 to 19 years old and you want some plants!

 

Stored properly thats not that long. Ive got 8 year old grass seed that was just basement stored and is sprouting 24 hours after watering.

 

That study is behind a subscription wall, for how long did they soak the seeds for best results?

 

Dang! Sites keep doing that! They put up the full study for a few weeks and then paywall it!

Awesome! So looks like a 1% solution really helped not only in germination rates for older seeds but also hastens the germination and development of all seeds. Definitely going to try this next time I pop some seeds!
