new scale need to calibrate

Discussion in 'General' started by blackhawkk9, Sep 21, 2008.

  1. I just bought this scale a couple of days ago and I need to calibrate it. It says to use a 50g weight but it didnt come with one and i dont really have one readily available. Any of you guys know anything maybe that you used or know that is 50g?

  2. Lol get another scale to find something that weighs 50g.

    That would work ^__^

  3. your right but i dont have another scale , :( so the question is what weights 50g?

  4. 1/4 of a cup of sugar weighs 50 grams.

  5. I find this pretty funny haha. It's kind of ironic.

But if you REALLY need somthing that weighs 50g's, stack 10 nickles on it.. it should be between 49.7 and 50g..

  7. Go to the nearest scale stop shop and pick up a 50g weight!:smoking::smoking::smoking:

  8. *removed for stupidity*

  9. nickles are about 5 grams each.

  10. do you have 2x 20's and a 10? 1x 20 and 3x 10's? 5x 10's?
    ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
    EVEN ANY 5's?!?!?

    what a pointless scale

  11. What the hell are you rambling about?

  12. lmao!!!!

  13. 166666 grains of salt should do it. :p

  14. If 666 is bad.. then 66666 must be way worse! You're the spawn of the devil!!! oh no!!!

if its a "new" scale that shit should already be calibrated dude, unless you got it used.

    10 nickels weighs 50 grams

hell, my scales instructions even say "in emergency situations" (haha whatever a scale emergency might be) that 40 nickels will work to recalibrate it haha, so its a dialed way to calibrate

  16. lmao

well it is new so thats what im guessing too, but im still curious

  17. Would it be worse if I told you after it was a reacurring 6? The real number was actually 166666.66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666 + infinite more 6s.

  18. Doesn't sound like those nickels are that reliable. Between 4.7 and 5 grams? That .3 difference can be big if youre weighing out dimes...

  19. nickels are reliable man, they all weigh the same cuz their precision milled and stamped

only nickel i could see being off is the buffalo head ones, so use a standard nickel

  20. Sorry, I mean't 49.7 to 50g, i'm a stoner, you know how it is.
