new roommate

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by bf45, Apr 11, 2010.

  1. im going to college next year and i would like to no if my roommate smokes. but some kid i no asked his roommate and the kid turned him and he got kicked out of school. so any tips on how to avoid that?

  2. I would start by asking if they smoke cigarettes. If not, you should be a little less intense with the questions but if so I would assume they either have tried weed or won't care if you smoked it yourself as long as it didn't affect them. There's plenty of subtle questions you can ask him, like what he's doing next Tuesday coming up.

  3. I'd suggest not even asking him point blank, just fish for hints and shit. I'd say invite him to a few parties and don't smoke around him but see what he does, or have a friend come up to you two and ask if you both smoke - wait for him to answer first. Act like you never met the kid before, who asked.

    Just some ideas!

  4. well its a yes or no answer, so why not ask him a yes or no question. pussy

  5. This worked with my roommate and I. He doesn't smoke but doesn't care if I do he's chill as fuck.

  6. I would just start off by saying shit like,"Dude it smells like marijuana in here. Do you smoke marijuana"?

  7. Just ask him round-about questions dealing with drug laws. Get his responses and decide. "My buddy got arrested for weed a few weeks ago, blah blah blag" See what he says about it.

  8. When you talk on the phone for the first time, ask him if he likes to smoke bud. Odds are you'll get 1 of 3 responses. The first is that he smokes bud which is your best situation. The second is that he doesn't smoek bud, but isn't totally against it. If your roommate is like this, he'll probably qualify his response by saying something like: "No I don't smoke, but I don't really mind if others do." The third situation (and probably the worst) is that your roommate is totally against it and could potentially exercise options to distance himself from you. This might mean ratting you out, or simply switching to another dorm room. Odds are you won't get roommate number 3. Most people in college are pretty cool and don't really care what you do on your own time. If he is number 2 or 3 though, I would definitely avoid rolling and stuff in your room, it'll probably make him feel uncomfortable.

Also word of advice: don't smoke in your dorm room. It may seem like an ok deal at the time (and I smoked several times in my and my friends dorm rooms, but it is exponentially more dangerous and you'll probably get caught). Just bring a spoon or a couple of j's outside and find a nice dark open area to smoke and chill.

  9. No need to call someone a pussy. A ton of kids are extremely nervous and whatnot when they have a new roommate that they don't know. It's better to be safe than sorry since this new roommate could be an huge douche.

  10. agreed

  11. Just ask him if he smokes. you should be able to tell if he is cool with it. I doubt he would rage out of the room and report you for that.

  12. Okay so here is a combo, talk about a story with your friend in it who smokes, finish the story, gauge his reaction to it and then ask do you smoke? That way its not soooo point blank and you've shared a story with him.

If you have a roommate who turns you in, that is a shitty person. If the smoking does not do anything neg to the roommate why do they care, most likely it was cuz of something else, like fucking his gf lol

  13. im going to college soon too, and when everything is still being set up im going to be like "hi, for starters, im completely ok with people who smoke marijuana, and im hoping to find a roommate who feels the same". not going to say if i do it or not, just as a civil liberties thing to start out
