New Indoor Organic Grow

Discussion in 'Organic Grow Journals' started by Gazeye, May 7, 2023.

  1. :hola: Hi there!

I've started a grow journal for these 3x Double Grape and 1x Crème de la Chem from Mephisto Genetics on another site already but just discovered this community. So I decided to post on here as well to see if I can get some extra advice/tips since this is my first grow as well. If you are following my grow elsewhere, I apologize for the copy/paste of the first couple day of Germination, but I really don't feel like typing it all out again lol

    ************************************************************************************************************************

Decided to give indoor cannabis growing a shot since I am getting tired of buying from the store and had always wanted to give it a shot. So i splurged on an AC Infinity 3x3x6ft grow kit and bought a bunch of different strains from Mephisto. Decided to start my growing adventure with 3x Double Grape and 1x Crème de la Chem. I intend to keep this blog updated as much as possible with their progress. Any advice/questions are welcomed. I'll start by listing what I have used for equipment so far.

    Equipment:
-AC Infinity Grow Tent Kit 3x3x6ft (Controller 69 PRO, IONBOARD S33 240W, Clip Fan, Ventilation Fan/Charcoal Filter)
-4x 3 gal. fabric pots on raised trays in a plastic saucer
    -AC Infinity Humidifier
    -Dehumidifier (not used)
-Spare AC Infinity clip fan (not used)
    -BlueLab PH Pen

    Double Grape:
    -Gaia Green Living Soil
    -Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4
    -Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4
    -Gaia Green Worm Casting

    Crème de la Chem (CDLC):
    -Pro-Mix HP Soil
    -Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4
    -Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4
    -Gaia Green Worm Casting

My local store only had 1x bag of Gaia Living Soil so had to by a bag of Pro-Mix HP to be able to fill all 4x 3gal. pots. The soil mix for the Double Grape is 66% Living, 33% Worm Casting and amended with 1 tbsp of 50/50 All Purpose and Power Bloom per gallon of medium. I could have went heavier with the amendments but i will just amend the top soil earlier than planned. Around the late 2 week mark of vegetation instead of the planned week 4.

Changed it up a little for the CDLC. Soil mix is 75% Pro-Mix HP, 25% Worm Casting and amended with 3 tbsp of 50/50 All Purpose and Power Bloom per gallon of medium. This one will stay on track for the 4 week amendment plan. I'll keep an eye on how they react to their different soil mixtures and keep note for the next grow.

Both seeds are being germinated directly in the medium. Slightly watered with 6.3 pH dechlorinated water and will check in 2 days if i have to sprinkle more water on. Current conditions in the tent are 25 Celsius, 67% Humidity and 1.04 kPa. From what I've read on the subject, I think these conditions are pretty good. The light setup is the S33 about 22 inches above the soil. Set at 40 intensity. On 24hrs a day at the moment. DLI is about 38-40.

    Day 2.5 Germ:

Slightly sprayed the soil on top of the seeds with 6.2 pH water. Just trying to keep it moist. Also watered the soil around the plastic cups to keep the rest of the soil hydrated.

    Day 3.5 Germ:

Went in to spray the top soil around the cups for all the girls this morning and took a peek under the lids. Looks like Double Grape plants number 1 and 2 are starting to make their way up from the soil! [IMG]

Number 3 yet to show her head. Will check the tent once before bed tonight and will update if she shows up. Most likely will show tomorrow at the earliest.

  2. Day 3 Night Germ:

All 3 Double Grape have broken the surface! They will spend overnight under the cups still. I'll remove them in the morning before I head off to work.

  3. Just got back from work a couple hours ago and went checked in on the tent. Nothing to report on the CDLC, just lightly sprayed the surface of the soil covering the seed to keep it moist.

    But the Double Grape.....

All three coming along. Number 1's stem shot up the second most but she has her seed shell clinging on to the top of the stem. But the cotyledons don't seem impeded by it so they should spread by end of the night. Number 2 has the most growth of them all with the bigger first set of leaves and longer stem. Still got a little clinger there tho..:poke: And coming in as the shortest, but also with first set of leaves, is Number 3. At least she doesn't have baggage like the other two.

Hopefully will have the CDLC to report on tomorrow. I think I'm going to post another comment with pictures of my soil mix, nutrients and some gear. In case another newbie like me finds this thread and is looking for a guide to at least get them started to this point.

  4. Well I kinda went right into doing this since my last post lol. Sooooo like I said, here's pictures of what I've been using:

    pH control equipment
    [IMG]

So here we got my BlueLab pH meter, BlueLab pH calibration bottles, General Hydroponic pH Up/Down bottles and a small generic bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide (cleans/disinfects stuff).

    Water
    [IMG]

Got a 5 gal bucket with an air pump (like the ones in fish aquariums) in there. Generic 3L watering can and a 1 gal water pump/spray thing.

    Soil/Nutrients
    [IMG]

So the soil for the CDLC is a combo of the Pro-Mix, Worm Castings and the two Gaia Green fry amendments. The 3x Double Grape are also mixed with castings and the dry amendments, but the soil was a 30L bag of Gaia Green Living soil (pictured below).

AC Infinity 3x3 grow tent. Bought as a kit.

Well that's pretty much it. Hope this helps someone out there. Also if anyone has any tips/advice on how I should alter my setup for future grows, please go ahead and comment :).

  5. Day 5

Not too much to report on the sprouts today. Just a little growth from the 3x Double Grape but the CDLC has yet to break the surface. Starting to get nervous about that one.

  6. Well here we are at Week 2, Day 2, of Vegetation for the 3 Double Grape Girls. So for a real quick update to get us to this point, we'll start with some pictures of last week.

Here we got a picture taken around day 5 of the Girls #1 through 3 from. Some lessons learned this week with the big one being the effects of under-watering. #1 took the brunt of that lesson and is the smallest of the gang. She's also showing some yellow colouring compared to the others. From the start #2 has been doing great. Blasting through the week with no issues and showing the most growth. #3 also felt the under-watering but only lacked in overall height. Her leaf development doesn't seem to have been hit that hard. I began giving water, starting day 5 of veg, with an actual watering can (not the pump sprayer). Total water per 24 hours about 400-500ml.

So that brings us to today, day 2 of Week 2.

We got some size improvement in #1 and #3 since the new water schedule. And as you can see #2 is still going strong, She's about 3.75" tall compared to her closest competitor at 3" (#3). Just adding water this week when they need it. Keeping an eye on #1 in case she needs some stem support this weekend. Will add dry amendments at the beginning of next week. Will also be slowly dropping humidity to 65% in the tent by end of week.
