Ive had a few sucessful grows with soil but i heard you have a higher yield with hydroponics? is thiss true? i have no experience with hydro systems other than watching a 2 hour video... any suggestions or education on the subject would be appreciated..
If you've done soil before and want to break into hydro I would recommend checking out coco. You water it like soil but feed it like hydro. Very easy.
Hydro gives a MUCH higher yield much faster than soil study study study buddy dont ask for handouts on what to read. Just read EVERYTHING also, us advanced nutrients sensi grow and bloom A&B with Ph Perfect technology for the easiest results IMO
you said the word critique and I got excited jk but seriously, those dark green leaves and rippled surface are indicative of too many nutes in your solution. Thin out the solution a little with distilled or RO to have PERFECT plants also, cover EVERYTHING in reflective mylar. Youll increase light efficiency quite a bit and reduce temps in your buckets, reducing possible root rot in the future.
Yield is strickly genetic, you got it in your seeds or you don't, period. First lesson no kind of fancy hydro or any other medium will grow a stunted/low-rider seed. Hydro will grow a good seed older faster than dirt, but from what organic guys grow i wouldn't bet on it. One word GENETICS.
Genetics are the biggest factor you should take into account. Even a grow guru can't turn crap genetics into good sensi. I always start at genetics. It is better get the right genetics rather then fight a plant to do something it doesn't want to. Are they everything? Obviously not. But it has to be the single most important starting factor IMO.
i find that hydro is a lot easier than soil (cleaner too). lots of good advice on here from some very savvy growers. allow me to offer some advice, i find the bubble bucket method to be inexpensive and reliable. i have used this same method for the past 7 or 8 years and find it to be extremely productive. you can get most of what you need at Lowes , Home Depot or Wal mart for just a few dollars. as you already know, everyone grows a little different and we all have our favorite methods but it is important to keep things fun and easy. hope this helps a little.
I agree that genetics are important but what kindof seeds are you getting that youre so concerned about genetics? Every seed ive ever cracked has grown bigass buds (thats a technical term)
Here in California every aspect is important to a lot of people like me. Something really only achieved by using a clone. Big buds are cool but I am more concerned with the type of high, smell, and taste. I have grown plenty of seeds and clones to tell everyone clones are where it is at. You can get good product from seed but you get consistent product from clones.
Your one of the lucky ones, most likely posting pics too. Typical pro hydro for ungronded views. Been growing dirt and now hydro for 2yrs, at the begining looking reading massive results. And am afraid to say those genetics are not easy to come by. Your bragging is just plain lucky. Nope not on steroids, but your off topic. I have my ways now to do hydro/dirt nft combo and finally getting results. Now if you take 700bil people (us) and knowing each one of us is unique, times that by min 5 times (guess) that would be getting close to combinations of Sativa Genetics alone, not counting Indica and hybreeds. Frigin vast, Not everybody gets lucky. And yes Genetics, dna, hereditary and genes too are Everthing.
this seems to be completely anecdotal. Noones ever been able to actually PROVE that there are different "tastes, smells, and highs". Not saying your wrong, just that you MAY be
I dont believe in luck. I studied and learned I NEVER post pics (seems like too much proof and its not legal to grow in this state...yet) I dont mean to brag. Im quite humble in person and attempt to be on GC "steroids" is a fantastic point IMO. Without them, you wont reach your full potential, ie bigger, stronger, sexier. While genetics will get you different strains (maybe not as many different starins as YOU think {BTW the are almost 7 billion people on the PLANET!}) you wont notice NEARLY as many differences in a plant as you do in people do to extra variable, however, given the & nillion humans on this planet, how many of them have ""poor genetics"? Now imagine someone was selling baby humans. How many of those baby salesmen would give you genetically inferior babies? Im just saying, the odds of bad seed are lower and lower when you think about it, Not looking to be difficult, I just dont think the "DNA" of the seed will be that important. afterall its just a weed
We are talking about genetics not the difference between hydro and soil. Think you confused this with a different thread we were posting in? And different genetics without a doubt carry different smells tastes and highs....
Horrible example. We are looking for certain traits in these plants. Not just looking for a functional plant. Yes there are some pretty stable and good genetics in seed form though. Just not as stable as a clone.
I still say its a good example but a clone is the best way to reproduce a specimen you enjoy. on average however, most seeds are average, just like humans
I'm definitely not posting to start an argument but.....the proof is in the product. I have a good friend who has been growing in soil for 20 years. He just finished his first product using hydroponics 2 weeks ago. They grew bigger, faster and with double the yield of his soil plants. Same strain, same light source, same nutrients......same everything. Genetics doesn't have anything to do with the yield. I know this for a fact. I am growing with an aeroponics unit right now and the result far surpass that of the soil plants. So.....sorry to be a downer to the soil growers but, if you learn how to properly use hydroponics and have the proper resources, the results are far superior. I'm answering the first post in this thread. Going from soil to hydro. I will post pictures and have no problem with it. My aeroponics unit will grow circles around any soil grower guaranteed! You just need the knowledge and products to do it. But, please don't think I'm attacking any soil growers because that is not my intentions. There are plenty of people who grow in soil with great success. I commend those that do. I'm just a firm believer that hydro is a quicker and more productive process for growing.
I read your post before you deleted Bog O Weed. And yes, some plants genetics make for a better yield than others. Nobody can deny that. I shouldn't have said "genetics doesn't have anything to do with the yield". It does. I should have said "when comparing soil to hydroponics, genetics has nothing to do with the yield". My bad.... was in a hurry when I was typing.
