As said in the article, because a majority of the police force and his attorney general hate the idea, he follows. And to my knowledge NFunSpoiler, marijuana is still illegal under federal law...

 

HB 1653: “decriminalizing less than ¼ ounce of marijuana.”

A public hearing was held at 1:00 on the same Wednesday (Jan. 20) as the hearing for HB 1652. The House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee is scheduled to vote on this bill Tuesday, Feb. 9.

HB 1373: “establishing a committee to study the effects of current state and federal laws on illegal drugs and the possession and use of such drugs.”

The public hearing on this bill took place Jan. 7, and the bill was voted OTP ("ought to pass") in an 11-6 vote Feb. 2. The House will vote Wednesday, Feb. 10 on whether or not to create this special committee of legislators to study NH drug policy.

Yeah if i read it right it looks like they are going to go through with the decrim of a 1/4oz or less. WTF. I mean its a giant leap forward but its still like a 400 dollar fine for a 1/4 or less. Thats pretty shitty IMO. Massachusetts is a 100 dollar fine for up to 1 ounce.

 

Yea that's a rediculous fine for less than 1/4 oz. Mass gets a $100 fine for less than a full oz and we get this shit. Gimme a break.

 

You ARE getting a break. Unless you would rather have your old marijuana laws where you get ARRESTED.
