New Guy Intro and 4x4 LED progress.

  1. Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking for years and finally decided to join. I started growing 5-6 years ago and have picked around in the legal industry side here and there (CO) grown 12” micro plants and 12’ outdoor plants, this is our first indoor tent set up, these are the basics.

4x4 - 190cfm exhaust fan with carbon filter.
Dual 4” passive intakes with filters
    Parfactworks 115w full spectrum RA1000
Giixer 110w full spectrum aka 1000w
I know these are amazon lights, I want to see what they can do, planning to build some QBs for flower.

    3 gallon fabric pots
Seeds from last seasons outdoor, unknown strains, have already pulled 5 males from this grow.

I’m using cyco platinum pro nutes, soil was a mix of miracle grow potting mix and coco.
Just recently found out I was watering with a ph of 8! So I immediately corrected that issue last week and the plants seem like they have bounced back. I’ve topped all but 2 and will put the net up in a week or so.

I had a few questions, I know I had a ph issue the first couple weeks but do you think this growth is on par for day 33 from seed or could my lights be too close? I don’t have a par meter but I have checked it with the lux apps on the phone, obviously not accurate but base idea and at 16” canopy is averaging 12,000 lux, each light is rated for 2x2 so I have them spaced evenly for the most efficient spread.

I have a few video timelapses that I will edit up, I’ve been trying to document this process the best I can. Any input is always appreciated!

  6. A short update, adjusted lights, mayhave found 2 more males, will let them ride another week and see if they are truly males (I’ve been starting to reduce light by one hour a week). Temps are still low, 65f lights out and 69f lights on, possibly effecting growth, although some plants are huge compared to others. The magical journey of unknown seed continues!

  8. I was moving the plants a little in the early weeks but after that new light, the larger plant seemed happy so I left them there, the short plants, minus one are short stubby and super tight node stacking just no stretch at all. At this point a majority of the plants are 12” tall with 6-8 tops each, I figure another week before flip, I was thinking around 18” and then add a qb for flower.

  9. Looking good. I'm a new grower this year, just topped and transplanted my ladies the other day. Around 3.5 weeks old currently in miracle grow potting soil with 1000w LED.
Questions: How often/when do you do your 2-3-4 tops after the first? And, do you have both veg and bloom buttons turned on for your veg? (can't tell in the picture) 7.jpg

  10. I topped once after the 3rd node and that allowed the 2 previous node side branches time to catch up to the tops and now I have side branching off those branches. Yes I have both veg and bloom switch’s on, it’s more light since I’m kind of maxing out these lights as far as square footage. Most 1000w led are actually only 110w.

  11. Day 43 from seed, preparation for flower has started. Heavy defoliation and last veg feeding went up to 1130ppm (930ppm previous feeding) I’ll flush and flip them ver the next week. I’ve backfilled all the pots so actual height is hard to say but the larger plants are 12”-13” above current soil level. Lights are 16” from canopy, being mindful of space for the net and spreading the plants out for flower, I think I should be good.

  12. Plants seem strong, some are still short and others grow an inch every day. I’ve moved a few around to balance the canopy. It’s day 46.

    What do you guys think?

  14. Definitely part of the game! We are now 5 days into flower, I still have 2 that are questionable. Anyway, plants all seem strong and healthy, excited to watch this stretch happen!

  15. Those Parfactworks lights are awesome. They have a sunlike spectrum like the Mars Hydro TS1000. My next grow will be using the Parfactworks 2000 and a 1000. I will be retiring my vipars.

  16. I agree, that Parfactworks light has been awesome! I’ve been wanting to build a qb for flower but for the price of that parfact, I’ll probably just buy another one of those.

This is my 1st time growing from seed. I put the seedlings in flower (12/12) and several showed their sex fast! Out they went. I was so proud of myself for nipping those boys in the bud, no pun intended. I had all my girls situated but weeks later I’m still finding the odd male in amongst them!!?? I guess it gets easier in time.

I should say, this is my 1st time growing seeds whose gender was a mystery. They were a gift. I have grown feminized seeds.

  18. How have you grown feminized seeds if this was your first time growing?
