New growth is lime green and soil is drying out quick

  1. Need help just some tips I water with a bottle of water every 2 to 3 days with the soil is getting dryer quicker than that I'll stick my finger in the top soil about 3 in down and it'll be dry except for directly around the plant should I water more where should I water less

  2. We need to know what size container ? Also how much water are you putting into it ?
See if a person waters it all at once that is the only way to go. Lets say 5 gallon pot at least a gallon of water every time. A rookie would only put a 12 ounce of tonic water over the top 5 times a day.
Send more pics . Are you feeding it ? New growth that is green is usually a nutrient issue lack of .

  3. It's a 3 gallon pot and I am a rookie when it come to indoor lol and I only give it a bottle of water every 3 days

  4. All that perlite you have in the soil a good thing .. Wait to it get dry one inch deep. Then put in a half gallon to start . There should be run off coming out of the bottom of the container after you water . If it needs more add more .
What are you using for nutrients ?
And if you water plants outside you just use a hose and soak the soil and once you see the water coming out the bottom you stop . Well indoor is kind of the same except you have to watch your mess .
They sell trays you can put your pot on. It will collect spilled water . I just let it dry up on its own keeps the bugs away. But im on cement .

Water off pot weight. When pot is light. Lift after watering you'll feel weight, water when that weight is gone. The lime green could be okay or could be sulfur or iron deficiency. You can try Epsom salt @ a teaspoon a gallon for foliar spray. Epsom salt is magnesium and sulfur, plants like this spray rather they need it or not. If that doesn't help over a couple to few foliar feeds and a week and a half or 2's time, iron also causes that. However majority of the time it'll be sulfur

If youd rather water with Epsom salt you can add anywhere from that teaspoon to a tablespoon per gallon of water. Dont do both, hard to over use Epsom salt but when you do its devastating. Doing both makes overdoing easier/quicker

For the foliar do it in the am before lights cut on. That's when stomata's are more open mainly located on underside of leaf. If you veg with low wattage it doesn't matter you can spray them as soon as lights come on. But a higher power light will burn wet plants

You don't have a 1000watt light, unless you paid about a thousand dollars, what kind is it. You probably have a blurple or something like that that's equivalent to a 1000w but probably actually pulls more like 250 actual watts..

Also your doing fine your plant looks fine besides the bright new growth, that even works itself out sometimes. Dont listen to those watering practices, they work but only if that's your preferred method and you understand what a dry pot is. If you slack at all on seeing if pot has water you can easily stunt a young plant. I did and I grow 12 to 24 plants at a time. You have 2 sticks and a few leaves. I wouldnt consider filling a 3 gallon pot with that little growth yet. As I mentioned lift the pot for weight. Sticking your finger in 1 to 3 inches just feels top soil. If soil is still wet below roots you can hinder root growth stunting plant. Off weight youd feel weight from that water on bottom of pot.

See that little plant in the floor. It was started about a month after those in the tent. That was about a month ago maybe a little more. I started that in a 2 gallon pot, and didn't pay attention to it. Wound up over watering and stunting, replanted now its growing again. If it was one of my only plants I'd be hurting rn. That 2nd pic same plant over a month old lol. I flipped that tent at 7 wks. Last pic is today, she's slow rolling for sure why I stress watering practices to new growers. I dont even water my 5 and 7 gallons to runoff. I would a plant sized for pot if I used liquid nutrients. That's the only reason to water to run off is when you use liquid nutrients

  10. I have an ounce shark it pulls a hundred Watts from the wall but the Box said it's a thousand watt light and this plant has been growing for about the same amount of time as your small plant the pot itself feels very heavy

  11. The light was only about 6 in from the top of the canopy but I readjusted it to 24 last night

  12. That was supposed to say atshark

  13. It pulls 100 watts from wall that's a 100 watt light. If heavy dont water. When that small plant sprouted I wasnt using enough water to feel water weight. My guess is I put it out too early. The sun dried up top several inches fairly quick as mentioned I couldn't go off weight. My guess is over time that small amount of water I had to do several times a day seeped down below roots keeping that area of the pot soaking wet stunting root growth. this go all that tent was started in 2 gallons

How does it put off 1000watts but only pulls 100? 40 bucks for 1000 watts lmao bruh stop. Doesn't work like that. I and most of us have made that mistake from Amazon. I bought 3 of them before I realized what I was doing. Only then because I got called out on here a couple years ago for having a blurple light that was 1000watts a sunrise however it was 1000 watt equivalent only drew 165 watts from wall.

lights like horticultural lighting group, growers choice, chill led, California sun to name a few see the price difference from quality light compared to that amazon

Even lesser quality lights like spider farmer and mars hydro ts model cost more than that

  17. Plant looks good
Sorry as you have learned it’s only 100watt light. Always look at watt draw in the specs

  18. 100 watt light or not . That one light is ok for one plant . Buy a few more . Or buy a better brand its only 40 bucks .
Yeah you have a great start how to water now . And what do the numbers on the nutrient say ? There are three numbers . I know nutrients . 40 dollar cheap light. Well you get what you pay for . It will grow any plant that is directly under it and make weed ! Job done . I have 30 dollar lights i made a grow journal on here it pull 4 ounces .But that light was a quantom board .
You light is not garbage its old tech. It will work ok. You might be ok with it .
If you want a good light for cheap here you go. 30 bucks one light per plant veg for a foot tall there is no reason a skilled grower cant pull 4 ounces from this light .

  19. You're right this is my learning run and I've definitely learned a lot thank you guys for that but the fact of the matter is I don't like to quit once I start so I'm moving forward with what I got. I do have another question though is this about time for me to switch to flowering

  20. You can go to flower whenever you want. You could run a flower cycle from seed. Generally you want to fill your space.

Training and whatnot to fill space when you go to flower it'll stretch 2 to 3x's as tall.
